Any way, here is yet another short of shots and this time it’s Sayaya’s turn. Takes place during the Senbatsu last week. And there will be more of Sayaya. I just can’t have enough of this girl!

Kashiwagi Yuki and Kawamoto Saya sit side by side during the Elections for the year. This was largely due to the fact that they belong to the same team B and that Sayaya’s name came after Yukirin’s in their alphabet.

Though Yukirin makes it a point to look straight ahead and pay attention to the ranked girls’ speeches, she can’t help stealing side way glances from time to time.

It’s the sniffles that make her steal the first one. This happens during the Opening Speech from the Cheer Guys. Since everyone gets teary even herself included, the only concern Yukirin has this first time is how seriously tiny Sayaya is and how Godly cute her tear – streaked face looks.

This time though, after just over two hours since the Speech, Yukirin catches the signs of more tears on Sayaya’s perfectly sculptured face. The announcer is halfway through the Undergirls listing. It hits Yukirin then and there – the reason for Sayaya’s new tears. It makes her feel horrible.

Without sparing time for another thought to pass Yukirin reaches for Saya’s hand, not gracefully so. Perhaps she shouldn’t have been so hasty in her goal because what she touches isn’t the hands she expects.

The texture of what her hand feels and the sharp intake of breath is what tells the truth of the matter. The matter that Yukirin chooses to ignore by meeting the gaze fired her way head on with a serous look as if to say that she didn’t notice a thing.

Now that she sees the girl with both eyes, Yukirin notices the reason for why she missed the target. Sayaya is completely wrapped up in the small pink blankets that each member was provided. It was raining and cold so most girls needed them.

Saya has her arms held in front of her chest under the blanket. It is them that Yukirin wishes to aim for but falls a bit short of the target and instead touches Sayaya’s side booby. Pulling her hand back right away would be showing that she recognises her hand’s location so Yukirin let it linger for a while.

She then moved it a bit to have it where she had originally intended to place it and gave Sayaya’s hands a gentle squeeze.

Saya for her part only continues to stare at Yukirin with eyes filled with the ever growing confusion. As if her Senpai was on a mission to confuse the living daylights out of her, she shivers when the heat she has collected so far is left to escape because her blanket gets pulled out of her grip.

Seeing as Sayaya isn’t getting the sign that Yukirin wants to hold her hand and asking her out loud does not seem appropriate, Yukirin decides to just get to it. So she pulls the blanket away, exposing Sayaya’s hands.

She breaks eye contact just for a second to make sure that she touches the right target this time. She takes the girl’s right hand in hers then raises her eyes to stare back into those small queer eyes.

Yukirin squeezes the hand in support and gives Saya a smile so rare to anyone who is not Mayuyu.

Sayaya’s reaction forces a wider smile from Yukirin when first she audibly takes in a big gulp of air then a rosey tint hits her cheeks. She looks down in a display of shyness that Yukirin only saw in the many anime that Mayuyu forced her to watch.

Yukirin steals a glance towards Mayuyu and wishes that she could do anything for her. But they were sitting in different rows so all she can do is fill up her Mayuyu smile with as much feelings as she can and beams it towards her. Mayuyu returns one with all her worries contained within it and Yukirin takes them all on to herself and hopes it relieves some stress off of Mayuyu.

Turning her attention back front as they call on the next girl, Yukirin doesn’t let go of Sayaya’s and keeps the strength of the hold until Sayaya has to leave, along with all the girls under 16 years of age. And even when that comes Yukirin still holds onto the hand until Sayaya and standing up and ready to leave.

She wants to think that it’s enough, what she has done for Sayaya and the girls looks much better, almost her usual self but something still stops Yukirin from letting go.

“I’m okay now Kashiwagi-san. Thank you.”

The way she says it backed up with those eyes that hide a fearsome strength, leaves Yukirin with no choice but to let go. That doesn’t mean that she has to go easily. Yukirin simply lets Sayaya’s hand slide from her fingers until she is holding onto the very longest fingertip.

Saya gives one last smile and a bow then joins her fellow Draft member Aeri and the two walk off together. Yukirin makes a week’s goal to see to one of her dinner date promises she never keeps.
