So, just watched the new Netflix movie THE SCHOOL FOR GOOD AND EVIL and man, talk about Disneyfication!
You know what I mean when I say that, right? If you don’t, what I mean is making a story with characters that have such strong chemistry that any relationship they have that is not as Lovers, does not make sense! Unfortunately, the Disney way is that it will never be Lovers!
And as if making fun of that Disney formula, Netflix went and doubled down on that by having our two girls call each other both banned word in our community; ‘Best friend’ and ‘Sister’!!!! Now, while that would not stop me from writing about them, given that I have written about Disney ships before, this one is a bit different!
What you will never see in a Disney story is a kiss on the lips between our Protagonists and yeah, you know what I am about to say – Despite pulling all the sacred words, these two pulled a Netflix and actually kissed…on the lips!!
Now, I don’t know about you, but kissing a dead person on the lips, someone you consider a friend/sister, after confessing your love for them following their death – This makes no sense to me! I mean, I understood the Maleficent/Aurora forehead kiss, if they had kissed on the lips, I would be as confused here as I would have been there!
Yes, Agatha kissed Sophie on the damn lips! After saying “I love you too”, which was an answer to Sophie’s “I Love you” minus the emotional dampener “You’re my best friend” of course!
Speaking of this ‘Confession scene’, it was wonderful! Disregarding the words that should not have been said, the scene was just so wonderful, I tell you! Sophie absolutely ate that scene up! She did everything right! All the way from the beginning by sacrificing herself to save Agatha to the looks of absolute love during the confession to the glances at Agatha’s lips to everything!
It was just marvelous!
Speaking of these two, other than the attempted love triangle in the story, it was all 100% about them! As soon as they got dumped into those separate school and spent most of the time looking for one another, or Agatha trying to save Sophie from an Evil Entity that had set their eyes on her!
Agatha has a one-way thought when it came to Sophie! She dedicated all her time trying to save her and take her back home, which she succeeded in by the way, and she even put her crush feelings on the side just to find Agatha a “true love’s kiss”, so she could prove she was in the wrong school.
Now, she did end up kissing Prince Dick at leave but she was leaving and Sophie could not give a tick about Dick then because as we know, she did find her one true love, and dare I say it, a true love’s kiss – when Agatha kissed her!
No, I am not having a lark! The more I think about it, this was actually a pretty romantic story! Even if Agatha and Sophie were of opposite sex but the story was the same, it would totally be taken as a romantic adventure!
Here are these two childhood friends, one a bit over-protective of the other, who find themselves thrown into a fantastical world far away from home. While there, their relationship was challenged, felt jealous but in the end, they came back to each other and left for their world again together.
Oh, and they confessed their feelings for one another!
Speaking of that, who confesses their friendship to one another!?! If you are friends, you are friends! There is no need to confess that. This makes less sense when the two friends have been close since their childhood!
That whole thing just made no sense which makes me think that it was just parody of the Disneyfication!
Even if there are Agatha/Prince Dick shippers, the ending let us know that he had actually turned into an obsessive villain and was about to come stalking Agatha in the human world, which you can bet is not going to go down well with her, especially Sophie.
Why? Because while in the Magic World Agatha was the protective one, in the human world it is Sophie who is protective of Agatha (did I mention how romantic these two are!?) and as such, if he were to come and start bothering Agatha, he will have to get through Sophie first.
You know, when we first meet the two, they are introduced as Sophie who had just lost her loving mother but that she had found someone who loved her even more, in Agatha. Like, a friend who loves you more than your own mother?! That does not make sense in any reality!
Follow that up with the two growing up with nobody but each other, well, Agatha still had a loving mother but outside her, she did not have anyone. They were both village outcasts being bullied y their peers all day long and even by the elder villagers!
Which makes sense, when Agatha flipped out at the prospect of Sophie leaving her behind, when she made plans to get out of that village!
Basically, what I am trying to say is that Agatha was totally whipped with Sophie. Even when they got to the magical world, she was the one chasing Sophie while Sophie was chasing Dick and her idea of a Princess!
And that makes for some great drama when in the end the roles are reversed, with Sophie finally seeing Agatha and knowing that she always had what she needed right there by her side meanwhile Agatha grew a bit more confident and independent while Sophie grew even closer to her! In the end when they went back to the real world, Aggie was the one protecting Sophie. It seemed like she had kept her confident hero traits.
I can’t help but think of the moment when the conversation about what transpired during Sophie’s death did come up! I am pretty sure that did not happen in the original story as they have no balls (I might be wrong, haven’t read the book). I might say this is where Fan Fiction comes to the rescue, but even there, the imagination has unfortunately disappeared!
Which sucks because there’s a lot to expand on! Like the two switching around the crown which was given to Sophie upon their first meeting, and thus represented a Queen’s crown, at the end, Sophie gives it, actually, places it on Aggie’s head, like she had chosen her champion and now it represented a King, or a queen if you want to be boring, since in the Fantasy World, we did find out that Aggie was the true princess while Sophie turned out to be a witch!
Since we are not boring people, and Aggie would rather be dead than be caught in girlie princess clothes, might as well name her the true Prince or King!
It sucks a bit though that Sophie did not keep her Wickedness in the end! She was a great Witch! The way she did the impossible and turned the characters upside down when she turned the Heroes into Villains and the Villains into Heroes, that was a moment for the books! She cemented that a good villain is one that isn’t 100% evil!
Oh yea, I totally loved her Wicked Hag look as well! It probably put a few people off when she gave us the dance while she was in that look, but I have no problems! She was still adorable even when she looked 100 years old!
Funny she was wearing a veil as if she was at a wedding! I see you, Sophie! You and your magicking Aggie into your arms for that dance for newlyweds! I see you!
Another thing to talk about, though some might dismiss it, is why Aggie chose to kiss Sophie on the lips when she thought she was dead but when she woke up, she went for the forehead! What are you hiding?! Therefore, we need a continuation story to find out these things! Still so much left to explore, like, come-on Fic writers!
One funny thing is that when they were talking about finding a true love’s kiss, Agatha was like, Sophie should just find any guy and kiss him because a kiss is a kiss, which was proven wrong by Sophie kissing a random student, and I am till salty that she did not kiss Agatha right then and there to prove that but I guess then the kiss in the end would not be as delicious as it was!
The point is that Sophie – who was looking for a true love’s kiss everywhere, did not find it despite kissing lots of Guys, it came from Agatha of all people! A kiss so strong, it literally brought her back to life!
No, this wasn’t the Sleeping Beauty, magic-induced, dead sleep! She was D.E.A.D! This was a more powerful kiss some true love’s kiss! Even if someone was not in love, they sure were after that!!! Let’s not forget about the confession that preceded said kiss!
Nay, the more I write about that moment, the less I care that Agatha kissed Prince Dick at the end! Since she did say a kiss is a kiss, that can be thought of in our favor by thinking that she thought of her kiss with Agatha as being of the same importance as her probable kiss of love!
As for me, maybe I speak for myself, but there was a lot of flags for Agatha about Prince Dick not being an ideal love, they clashed way too often and not all about Sophie (thought it mostly had to do with Sophie), thought mostly about Sophie – which showed clearly who was more important to Agatha!
Seeing as Prince Dick all but turned antagonistic with that teased ending, I don’t see him posing a threat to my ship!
Unfortunately, it seems like the story is an adaptation of some book, which means that chances are very high shit is going to fall all over itself in the sequels, if there are any. Then again, I haven’t read the books so maybe they are legit in the original story!
At the same time though, I don’t want to go reading it because it might ruin my pleasure of the movie! I really love the movie. I did not even notice that it was over two and a half hours long until some dweeb on the twitters mentioned it!
Like, I totally recommend this movie! I haven’t read the book as I just mentioned, so if the movie turns out to have made a bad adaptation, I don’t know what I can do for you. Who know, after more time goes by, I might get the book and see what the difference were! You never know, the movie might have changed some things for the better! Agatha and Sophie might not even have kissed in the book!
I might make a video about them as well! That’s how much I ship the two!
So yes, I totally recommend this one. I hope we get a 4K version soon too!

So,you are telling me that they were like what?A couple? And their feelings? Was these even 1% romantic? Supercorp, this new house of the dragons series, this new darlentina show, warrior nun are some of the examples that are exactly the same they were in this movie. As friends, best friends, sisters.Whatever you want to call them. Isn’t the blonde girl gone and the other girl stayed in the kingdom with the dude? All these shows I mentioned aren’t the definition of queer bait? So,isn’t this movie in their category?I am 99% sure it is. Pfff . It’s 2022 and they still teasing and queer baiting us.

What…are you talking about!?
October 23, 2022 at 20:21
What you didn’t understand? I explained it pretty clear and with examples.
October 23, 2022 at 20:23
Explain it better then.
If you went into this movie expecting gays, it’s on you! There was no baiting in any promotional material
And Warrior Nun is no baiting!!!
October 23, 2022 at 20:31
You just told it!So Theschool for good and evil is not gay. And wtf are you talking talking about warrior nun isn’t bait?Of course it is. Just like all the shows I mentioned. What? Because Bea is a lesbian? Okay. She is .I know. But other than that her relationship with Ava you can see that is really not romantic. So yeah. This too is queer bait.

No one who made these projects said they were gay. You all projected.
And come back to me in December about Warrior Nun.

The kiss on the lips is in the book… But they find out later that they are sisters/twins. Agatha has a husband, Sophie has male lovers.
PS: Can you give me the names of the models on your image of the week? thx

Welp! Looks like I am staying away form that book, or books, as it seems there’s a lot of them, if we are talking about marriage and stuff!
I’ll stick with the movie.
Was there any differences?
As for the models, I only know of one. Here’s more from the set https://www.v2ph.com/album/ae59843a.html?hl=zh-Hans
