HALLELLUJAH!
Like, literally and figuratively!
Thank you, Netflix! Thank you too, Mr Simon Barry! You totally made my year!
I called it! I told you all!! Why do you not believe me!!?!!
But before I start, I am pretty sure there are people already mad at this season’s ending! All I am going to say about your woes is – keep it to yourselves!
Cheers!
Perfect! As far as Avatrice is concerned, everything was perfect! The pacing was right on the money, just like season one! We ended on a hint in the last season, and we picked up in the middle of the attraction having intensified between Ava and Beatrice!
The difference is that while last season it was mostly on Beatrice’s side, interestingly, we start season two with the roles reversed and it is more Ava’s attraction towards Beatrice being at the forefront! Sure, we get the jealous Beatrice that was teased in the trailers, but the actuality is that Ava has it worse, believe it or not!
There is this one scene, in the best moment of them, as far as I am concerned, which was their first night out and Ava’s first-time drinking, basically Ava getting all Beatrice’s first times, but anyway, the way Ava was looking at Beatrice in this scene, Jesus Christ, if they arrested people for gay-staring, Ava would be on death-row! Like, seriously, just look at this…
WHIPPED!!!!
As expected, Ava was very emotional and wore her feelings on her sleeves while Beatrice tried very hard to keep her feelings at bay, even as they leaked out often. It was super adorable, another one of their great moments, when they got jealous of each other over nothing at all! But of course, we are on the outside looking in, and we don’t have their feelings for one another. To them, just the other being friendly with someone else brings out the green eyes in them!
I for one got almost all that I wanted! Avatrice was not rushed just I like I prayed they wouldn’t be, in fact their first kiss was in the last episode and their love confession happened in their very last scene! By percentage, that was much later than Beatrice’s coming out in the first season but by episode, they were both in episode 8, which is a nice easter egg!
Speaking of that, it was one of the disappointing things – that we got two episodes less than what we got in season one! Secondary, the story left much to be desired, for me anyway! Maybe it’s the usual, the surprise is gone so of course the story is less uninteresting, but it is more than that! The story for the first season had great twists and was very intriguing, but this was predictable and boring!
Enough of the negatives though, let’s get back to the great things!
As I mentioned up there, the best moment for me was not the kiss, or the confession but Ava and Beatrice’s night out! That hit me right in the FEELs! For me it was in that moment that Ava really knew that she loved Beatrice! The way she looked at Beatrice as she danced! Gods! They were being intimate without even realizing it! Well, Beatrice was not aware! Like during that moment where she instinctively and possessively shielded Ava to her as some Guy came dancing close to them!
They were just so…
Then of course right up in the kiss! But not because of the kiss, but rather, the actions before the kiss! Like, did you all see that spin they did while bosom to bosom with arms around the waist?! Like, how frikkin romantic was that!! No wonder Beatrice was shocked senseless! For someone who was bedridden for most of her life, Ava sure does have some amazing moves on her! The kiss too was great of course, especially since it was a 360-degree kiss!
The last time I saw a 360 was in season one of American Horror Stories, not that long ago but before that it was way back in 2004 so…
Following up with that, comes the confession/goodbye! I made a mistake of checking twitter before I watched the show and I got spoiled when some fool gave away the kiss being during their last scene, as such, I was scared that Ava was going to die, just as we figured in season one that all Warrior Nuns die! A fact I had forgotten about until Camila talked to Beatrice about it!
Their goodbye and almost death scene totally reminded me of Agatha and Sophie’s, heh, confession scene as well in THE SCHOOL FOR GOOD AND EVIL! The only difference being that Beatrice did not kiss Ava but kissing again would have been way too cheap! I liked slow and they went slow! They kissed, then they confessed! Somehow, I don’t associate confession time with kissing time!
Now that I think about it, I think this is the first time that a couple has kissed before they have confessed! I don’t mean accidental, drunk kisses either! I mean a true felt kiss! They did everything the way I wished they would! I was afraid, to tell the truth, that they were going to rush things, especially when they started with Ava and Beatrice already living together and sharing a big bed BTW!!
Who do they think they are, NanoFate?! They only needed to have an adapted kid to fill the cap! Not to mention, they were acting like a couple already but then I remember they were already flirty by the end of the first season and there is a three-month gap between then and now, so all was in order! I’m just so glad that they did not use the time jump as an excuse to rush Avatrice and start the season with them together already!
Next is the first time Beatrice thought that Ava had died after falling from the sky! Leaving Beatrice’s public confession aside, which actually makes me glad that the ending confession was mostly from Ava since her confessing again right there would have been redundant noise. I mean, Ava did hear most of what Beatrice said even if she was out of it!
But anyway, what I loved most other than the confession in this scene is that we got back those intense close encounters like what we got in season one during the training for Ava’s phasing! And unlike the awkwardness that followed back then, since they were both not sure what the hell that was all about, this time they fully embraced it, even Ava throwing in a teasing stinger in there! I was thrown back to the first season when my mind melted and unlike last time where I half expected the other shoe to drop since it was the beginning, this time both embracing and me knowing that they are now it, I fully enjoyed the moment!
And how can we forget about those moments of jealousy between the two! Beatrice was always jealous whenever Ava and Boy Man breathed the same air was a joy, mostly because we knew that Ava only had eyes for her but as I said, we knew but the characters don’t know so their view should be honored! Meanwhile that scene at their bar when fellow Sista comforted Beatrice, Ava over at the bar being super confused and hotly jealous was a joy to watch too!
They were just too cute these two! Thank you, Mr. Barry! You delivered on your promise! I sure hope you get rewarded by Netflix and get to finish your story! Fuck that Stranger Shits! (Apologies to the fans)
And what about the way they were both protective of each other, huh?! They put the meaning of emotions powering the Halo to the max when Ava bust up with energy when ever she thought Beatrice was in danger! Yet another throwback to season one where she bust out when Beatrice was almost shot! And did anyone find it funny that Boy Man always got blown away when Ava burst her force field, even if she did not want to blow him away? Only Beatrice was safe from these bursts. I just found it hilarious!
Meanwhile, Beatrice either went ape shit whenever anyone got between her and Ava or she totally went mush when Ava got badly hurt! They are so freakin adorable I don’t even…
And what of their first kiss? I mean actual first kiss! It happened all the way back in the first episode actually! Yes, I am talking about the cheek kiss! I was taken by surprise by that, almost as much as Beatrice seemed to be! It was one of the reasons I thought they had pulled a fast one on us and skipped the development because of time jump! Thank the Gods that was not the case! It was just Ava’s attacks to get Beatrice, not that she needed to!
I am also going to add on their ‘breakup’ talk too because the way Ava broke down feeling that sting and the weight of her emotions when she realized that Beatrice was not on her side this one time and she brought up the ‘face it together’ promise….God, my gay heart was squeezed into smoosh!
But of course, we all knew that wouldn’t be the end, but it still did not stop me from crying and testing up inside! And that is after they already had their first friction after Beatrice beat up Ava again about her impulsive decisions and Ava finally coming clean about her thoughts on her new destiny! They made up of course when Beatrice realized that she was being hard on Ava given her situation!
God, they practically went through all the phases of a relationship, except making love of course! But hey, we must keep some excitement for season three, right! And believe you me, if we ever get a third season, these producers are not going to hold back! This is a mature show, and I am pretty sure they are going to deliver with Avatrice from point 1 to 100! They went all out on their development, and they will go all out when they start to date and be in an actual relationship!
I frikkin love this show! I am so happy with season 2 and while I don’t understand the situation with Shotgun Mary (where was her dead body or her death scene?!), I am pretty sure they have plans for her! If they did not they would have replaced her and while this new Sister, who is almost a copy of Mary showed up, she is not Mary so I am expecting more surprises next season, especially since people just don’t stay dead in this show (well, except Boy Man, there is no way he’s coming back from that – oof!)
Thank you, Netflix! Thank you, Mr. Simon Barry! You made my year!!
Now, if only Wednesday delivers…I will crown 2022 as…
Okay, let’s not count our chickens just yet!

Hey again! So,you are telling me that Ava and dude didn’t flirt?I think that what they were doing was the epitomy of flirt.Unlike Avatrice that was more like bait. And only in the last ep I was okay. They love each other more than just best friends. Uuf. I think it’s the first show that made me eat that queer bait aligation.I think I am mostly right about all I have said, right? Please don’t attack me haha. Also,Wednesday isn’t going to be just a horror series?Nothing queer about it,right?Because I see a lot of ppl talking about a wlw ship wenclair i think. This one is definitely a bait, isn’t it?

I don’t know anything about Wednesday so we will just have to wait and see.
As for Ava and Baby Man, there was no flirting. He was practically still that little boy to her from season 1.
November 14, 2022 at 12:20
Well, yeah.I know he is the little boy from S1 but still. It seems like we have so opposite and chaotic opinions about warrior nun haha
November 14, 2022 at 14:06
I can see it though, even I before I found out it was him, I had my doubts. But then I realised that Ava didn’t really ‘attack’ him like she did that guy from sesson 1 and since she was aware of Beatrice’s jealousy, I don’t think she would actually flirt with him.

Yeah. But what about the looks and the eye contacts they had?wtf was those?haha. Avatrice never looked at each other like that. Their looks were ‘just different ‘.
