Sir Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing and Seras Victoria’s romance?!

What is probably the last of Gaynuary content AKA January 2022, well, as far as I am concerned as these are all that I have come across, here we have a B-horror to wrap up what must be the greatest January in the history of Calendar!

DRACULA ~ THE ORIGINAL LIVING VAMPIRE, is a movie that if you are an anime fan and have seen Hellsing, no matter how hard you try you won’t be able to unsee the thing when you see it! That thing begins with the main character, Amelia Van Helsing (Christine Marsh Prouty), who is practically modelled after Integra herself! Seriously, the only traits missing were a sword and glasses, that’s it! Everything else, down to her hair-do is like the perfect live action version of Sir Integra you can even imagine!

I was so damn surprised! So much so that no matter what happened in the movie, I was already sold! But then when you go that extra step and see how Mina (India Davies), Amelia’s girlfriend, is basically Seras Vitoria, with her short wild blonde hair and big blue eyes, then there’s practically no going back!

Seriously, that fact stayed with me throughout the whole movie that I didn’t even pay much attention to the story! I am still shaking my head and I seriously want to have an interview with the Director and ask them about a lot of things!! All concerning Hellsing the anime, of course! Like, there is no way this was all a coincidence!! I refuse to believe it is!

The story goes that Amelia is a detective who is investigating some recent string of murders where the victims have a lot in common. They are all female, red haired and their bodies are almost completely drained of blood! They are also killed during or after sexual intercourse! The movie is title Dracula so of course we all know what is going on but what we don’t know is the why, which, in addition with a few other elements, it is a fresh take on old stories!

Dracula is looking for girls who resemble his dead wife but he has yet to find the perfect fit and if you aren’t the one he’s looking for, well, it’s goodbye to you Lady! While Mina is not a red-head, she has the facial features of Dracula’s dead wife and so soon she is on the menu and so rest is history as Amelia races to save her girlfriend!

Truthfully, I was surprised at the makeup for the vampires, they would definitely pass for a cinematic feature and Dracula’s powers too, they were well done for a StD kind of movie!

Even without the gay, I was already sold on this but we all know I wouldn’t be writing about it at all if there was no gayness an I already spoiled it but really, it’s not like there’s a lot to talk about! Amelia and Mina are already in a relationship when the movie begins, and they stay in the relationship even after the challenge that is Dracula ripping them apart by taking Mina as his bride and killing Amelia!

You know me, I am more of a zero to hero relationship kind of person (you will never seen me read a Fan Fic where the characters are already in a relationship) and prefer to see the beginning of relationships than the middle or end!

That being said, sometimes it is nice to have a steady relationship, especially if it doesn’t work towards the end but rather just gives us a moment from their life where we meet as they are already together and live while they are still together! No hassle, no drama!

The drama can be somewhere else, like for example here, where the drama was about Dracula and Amelia’s detective work to find out about the murders and then later, fighting to save Mina from being turned!

With a bit of a twist, Amelia is bitten by Dracula during their battle and the movie ends with her turning into a vampire! The name usually associated with battling vampires now belongs to a vampire! Ironic that Luc ended up being lover to a vampire!

What will the sequel bring? That is if there is ever one! I have a feeling that even if Amelia is somehow able to resist biting Mina, Mina will offer up herself anyway, a la Bella!

Anyway, Dracula ~ The Original Living Vampire is out on the interwebs so check it out when you have time!

And with that I think all the Gaynuary content (the one I know of anyway), is up! Back to standby mode now? Hopefully not! Come on February, don’t be a loser! Take up the challenge to you older Sis and deliver some killer content too!
