Or live long enough to die a Crazy Lesbian!

Terrible puns aside, I really was not expecting anything from this series and I know I am saying that a lot lately but really, can you blame me?! And even if the fact that it is there, in the end it was the same old disappointments so once again I returned to reserved mode! Eh, I guess this is the most we can expect from this type of genre!

Still, I have to say they did up their game a bit with Kitano Kii, someone I last posted about like, almost a decade ago, come back to us as a Lesbian Teacher! A Crazy one but a lesbian none the less! I will take a Crazy Lesbian over a simple Crazy Bitch any day!

Anyway, the story goes that Izumi-sensei is dead and one of the students is the suspect so a detective comes to the school to find out who the killer is but there’s something strange afoot with all students of one Class C of Year 3 coming out as suspects, something that no sane person would do.

Yeah, the Lesbian is already dead before the series even starts so still good old “Here’s something and nothing at the same time” but eh, it was very interesting and the show did give me a nice surprise towards the end with that twist I did not expect so it wasn’t a complete waste of time! And really, seeing Kitano Kii again was nice a nice feeling I just had to stay for the ride!

Speaking of, most of the cast are from the same Idol group and play themselves, actually all students play themselves but who we are most interested in are Izumi-sensei, the main girl Hibino Meina, who is kind of helping the detective along the way and a mysterious character – member of the mystery club Nishimura Ruka.

The series really does a good job of hiding what is really going on and I did not catch on at all until the truth was revealed, which of course prompted me to go back and watch again from episode one just looking for clues that I would have missed!

You see, at first I actually thought this was a parody series all fun and games but it turned super serious in the end which made me like it that much more (even without the gay). You see, while Meina was helping the detective search for the killer and the weird way that the classmates came out one after the other as the culprit only to be proved otherwise by Meina, it was obvious something was amiss!

Turns out that the classmates were trying to protect the real killer, who had lost her memories because they suffered trauma from the incident and with the way Meina was acting peculiar as opposed to all the other girls, and sure, there are awkward girls like that but this was the third year of high school, plenty of time to get over that behaviour and to everyone’s surprise, yeah, the actual killer turned out to be Meina herself!

Yeah sure she did not actually kill Izumi-sensei, that was suicide, but would the police think so? I mean maybe Ruka’s testimony would have helped as she was the only witness but I guess since they are young they didn’t think things through, add the state of mind at the time in the mix and yeah, no one would make better judgments in their situation but when Izumi-sensei drinks the poison, and expecting Meina to follow her so they could live…uh…die happily ever after, Meina feeling the guilt also was about to follow Sensei but Ruka who had been spying on them drops in to save Meina but Meina is too far gone from the shock of it all!

Ruka then decides to cover for Meina and created evidence to point to her as the suspect but moving Izumi-sensei’s body to the pool, from the classroom, and stabbing her body to make it seem like she was stabbed. She then begs their whole class to play roles so as to save Meina from remembering what happened!

Yeah, she did that!

Why? Why would anyone do that!! Only thing we all think of is because of love! Ruka loved Meina that much! Her love, and this is kind of poetic, was as strong as Izumi-sensei’s but while Izumi-sensei’s love would have ended in death, Ruka’s love for Meina ended up saving Meina’s life!

I tell you, when the secrets were revealed and we got the flashback episode, I was a mess! I was like, is it finally here?! Is Japan finally moving on and joining the rest of the world!! Are we finally getting a honest to goodness story where there not only is the villain of the story a Lesbian but also the Hero is a lesbian!?! Add to that we get two other birds with one stone is a Student/Teacher relationship and a love rivalry?!

But alas!

The ending was as mediocre as one could have made it! Like, Ruka freaking all but threw away her life just so she could save Meina but apparently that love is nothing! They did not communicate how powerful such dedication to loving someone was! Instead we got the two going their separate ways…Separate ways!!!! After all that!!?!

I flipped a table, let me tell ya all!

Yeah, and now I have to watch Ride or Die?! Looks like I will have to put it on the back burner for while until my feelings return to flat-line!

Ja
