What…just happened?!!
Wait, queer-baiting was a thing outside of Japan?! I mean, it makes sense that it is not just Japan but evidence shows otherwise! Maybe others have come across it but I have never, not outside of Anime and dorama!
And don’t give me that! No one who watches these first few episodes thinks that it was going to be Kayla’s brother who ends up with Sky! For crying out loud, even Kayla’s best boy friend was on the same page as us and he seemed to be shipping Sky with Kayla!
Seriously, I am super shocked these two did not end up together and that is super disturbing! More disturbing is the fact that I am not that mad about it! I have come to hate queer-baiting so much that I have literally put a ban on watching any more KyoAni projects! That’s how bad I hate queer-baiting!
Seriously, there is no way anyone watching this didn’t think there was going to be something between Sky and Kayla! No frikkin way! I want to meet you whoever didn’t think it! And I am not talking about there not being a thing with the brother. It was too obvious as well that he was into Sky too but Sky’s actions, and no, this wasn’t me projecting (I have grown beyond that I think), all signs pointed to Sky being more towards Kayla than Kayla’s brother!
Well, that was until The Flash went back in time and fucked up the timeline and all of a sudden we are having background information about Sky having had a boyfriend in the now brother’s Team’s Captain, and thus telling us that she is straight and has been all this time, and am sitting there flabbergasted!
Halfway through the series, at the moment that Sky and Kayla’s relationship should have shifted, we then decided to do this shit! And don’t forget, there was also a better option for Brother’s girlfriend in the Coach’s daughter!
Seriously, this all reeks of a re-write that happened after someone got cold feet in the middle of filming because things just didn’t make sense! Even towards the very end where Sky and Brother are dating, I guess, there is still this…thing…just sitting there in the room between Sky and Kayla and I am just staring with wide eyes just wondering the same thing over and over again in my mind…
…WHY…!
Like, I don’t even know…I watched the series from beginning to end, something that never happens when my alarm goes off but for some reason I kept watching, and even by the end I still thought Sky and Kayla were a possibility! Even as the screen went blank because there were no more episodes, I still thought about them happening!
Like, what is this!
Anyway, the show is on Netflix, check it out if you want because for a while there, I even thought it as the best Series of 2020 because of the sheer perfect development of Sky and Kayla, but that was in the beginning before the world turned upside down!
I should have known really, no series has that much patience in setting up relationships except a select few but most of those got cancelled by Netflix! I am of course talking about the likes of “I am Not Okay With This”, “Everything Sucks!” and “Warrior Nun”!
Sigh…So close to having one of the best relationships…Who knows, maybe they are saving it for S2! But that’s another problem I have already touched upon so I won’t go into it again…
Oh well…

Thank you for your sacrifice lol
Two weeks ago I watched “Sentinelle” on Netflix. The movie sucks but you see Olga Kurylenko for 70 minutes and at least her character is gay lol

there is genuinely no way those two girls are not in love. as you said, it reeks of a reqrite midseason unless they’re pushing a VERY slow burn here and the story is ultimately about them finding themselves through each other and realizing they are gay. even after the mid-season part the dialogue between the two remains very easy to read into.
