Mate-Me Por Favor
KILL ME PLEASE or MATE-ME POR FAVOR, is a Brazilian Drama (and Horror and Thriller apparently) that centres around our girl Bia and her friends in a small town that is plagued by a serial killer who rapes and kills girls their age but sometimes also goes for men, making this confusing movie even more confusing if we can’t even figure out the true intentions of the killer!
But really, I put the other genres in brackets because this is just a drama with a sprinkle of those other genres. The movie isn’t primarily a thriller nor is it a horror! There’s like, only two scenes which can be considered in the horror genre and the thrills only extended to us knowing there is a killer out there.
Certainly, the girls didn’t seem that afraid nor their other Mates, as if this was the usual occurrence (but it wasn’t) and we never get to meet the killer, unless one is aboard the theory that Bia’s brother is actually the killer given that ending! But even then, you never get to see him be psycho-like, again until that one scene towards the end where he is seen raping and strangling a girl who looked like his dead girlfriend, who also was a victim of the killings.
But anyway, we are not here for that!
We are here for the gays and thankfully the one in question is actually our very own main character Bia!
But here is the kicker, one would be hard-pressed to call her gay given that she had a boyfriend most of the movie and she flipped out hard when her said boyfriend left her for rival blonde bitch of the school (Though really, she wasn’t that bad and I totally was into her too)!
Speaking of that blonde rival, she was part of the evidence that Bia was totally in the closet when this one time we see them interact Bia has the Monroe vision of seeing said Blonde walking towards her in slow motion like she was a teen boy stacked on hormones! I mean, she is a teen girl stacked on hormones but she has a boyfriend (at this time) and they were doing it so her libido shouldn’t be that over-filled!
That in addition to the primary evidence that Bia is gay, the evidence of her always seemingly watching this one couple making out throughout the movie, totally gave away Bia as tots gay! Heck, she even checked out her friends from time to time and I can’t blame her! I am only surprised she hasn’t made out with one of them yet! But from what I gathered, I don’t think they know she is into girls…too!
Anyway, there is this couple who are one of those couples that you want to power a bucket of water over as they seem like they are always in heat and don’t care that they are in public, always making out whenever and wherever but what they don’t know is the fact that they have a fan who is always watching them! That fan is of course Bia! But what is her interest in them? Is she crushing on the guy?
Ha! Wouldn’t that be the cliché!
No, our Bia is crushing on the girl and we only see this the third time when the girl finally catches her looking and stares back but Bia doesn’t look away, she keeps staring and the girl smiles as she stares back.
Nothing happens of course!
Indeed, nothing happens until like, the last 20 minutes of the movie! Up until then Bia had checked out her friend, kissed a dying girl claiming that she was giving her CPR to her boyfriend (No, it wasn’t CPR, she took the blood on her lips with her as a souvenir for crying out loud!) and all through that she was just watching her crush make out in secret!
Then all of sudden the two finally meet in the bathroom and the flirting commences with sex eyes in the mirror followed by the hair fuck—I mean hair tucking move (surprisingly the Crush was doing the seducing, then again, she is the horny one) and before long, they are having the hottest make out of the whole damn movie!
Yeah, let’s just say that after that kissing awakening, neither was the same again, you can just see it on their faces afterwards!
Sadly we never get to see them interact again after that, but seeing as the blonde took Bia’s boyfriend and that the crush finally caved and made out with Bia, we can just imagine that they are definitely getting things on!
So yeah, we did not get a conclusive goal to their relationship but this movie is like that – a mix of everything and neither thing was concluded! The killer was not found, life still went on even with the killings, we don’t know what state Bia’s relationship is in with her friends given that she fought with almost all of them but we never see her talk to them again (though we see them together without her so I guess that would be a sign?)
In conclusion, everything was just left open-ended, like we came into their lives at a certain time and left them at a certain time, not like the usual where we come into a character’s life because a certain event happened and we leave after a certain event is concluded.
I guess the only thing that was concluded was that Bia was definitely gay (and a little bit psycho – maybe it ran in the family?! As we see her bury probably the girl her brother killed the night prior) and finally did something about it during this time we got to meet her!
Anyway, yeah, that is all I wanted to write about this 2015 movie. Yeah, it’s that old!
