So, yesterday was the 15h Anniversary of AKB48 and while usually we would get a LIVE performance with all 301 girls, sadly we are living in a pandemic world (not a twilight world, sorry Nolan)
And as such the event, that was streamed everywhere ( I watched it from YouTube) was held over Zoom calls with only five girls actually in the AKB48 theatre, each one representing the five teams (A, K, B, 4 and Team 8).
I always look forward to this anniversary stage because we get some much needed member interactions that we rarely get. But alas, nothing can be done about the state of things but that did not mean that the event was one to be missed!
Here are some highlights I loved about the event…
January Concerts
The biggest one of course is the replacement for both the stage we would have had yesterday and the yearly Request Hour that we won’t be getting next year. Instead we are getting a three day banger of performances that cover the whole discography of AKB48!
Now, now, hold your horses! Just like you, I too nearly spit my tea because for a second I thought that they would cover every last song ever but sadly that was unrealistic! For starters, each performing team would have to cover over 100 songs each!
That’s like, impossible, given the time they have anyway! Like, some of the songs don’t even dance choreography! The girls would have to learn all those in a month or so of time!
Yeah, no!
So, instead the will be choosing songs from the range given them and as the table shows above, for example, Team B will be covering all songs released in 2010 and 2011! That includes all singles, sides, and stage songs!
Poor Team A have their work cut out for them! They have the most songs of them all because we all know the madness that was stage turnovers in those days!
But I gotta say, Team B, or more like, Yukirin struck gold on this one! 2010 and 2011 were like, her year, (Team B’s really but she is the only one left from the B of those times)! Those years were AKB48 Peak times! First million seller in Beginner (heh), First Record Winner in Flying Get (those puns though), not to mention Yukirin breaking the Kami 7 wall and jumping straight to 3rd position right next to the legends Atsuko and Yuko!
Yeah!
Anyway, I can’t wait for these concerts! They are going to be epic!
Mogi-chan Coming Out Of The Closet
But of course!

How can I not mention this outing!I could feel the shock all over the world as people watched Mogi-chan coming out as a closet Yukirin fan all this time! Like, seriously, I have always felt like these two are opposite sides of the magnet! I don’t know why but I just didn’t see Mogi-chan ever being even remotely close to Yukirin’s wavelength!
Turns out I was oh so wrong! Apparently Mogi-chan was a Yukirin fan before she joined AKB48, which was made known to her because her brother was into them back then.
Yeah, the members’ reaction was the same as mine! I definitely did not see that one coming! If Mogi-chan can be a Yukirin fan, well, everyone is fair game!
And of course Yukirin was watching so we got to see her reaction and she too was as surprised as all of us! She said she wanted to zoom call Mogi-chan but she was too scared not knowing what to say and that is what I was talking about!
Seriously, this was the most surprising thing of the event!
Well, I already shipped Mion with Yukirin so if the husband is now into Yukirin, well, the mind goes places you know…

Yeah, that just happened! A bomb about a possible Tomu and Orin doing Oshibe to Meshibe just got dropped casually like we weren’t on international world streaming!
God, it feels so good to know that I am not the only pervert out there! I beg you Komi-chan, please make Tomu do it! I don’t care if you have to force her! You are the captain now! Tell her to do it or else!
And really, her reaction was more of a thundere reaction akin to those clichés in movies where a character does exactly the thing they had sworn not to do just seconds before!
And also, outside the initial reaction from Orin-chan, she did not seem that against the idea!
Please, oh please, make it happen!
God, I don’t think I am forgetting about this anytime soon! This thought is going to be in my brain until the concerts happen!

Seriously, I think Tomu-chan is now feeling the pressure! That Komi, she totally brought it out so that it can be in people’s minds and kind of starting expectations! Now poor Tomu might feel like she has to do it!
Please Tomu-chan, please! For science!
Anyway, that’s that.
I actually enjoyed this much more than I expected and I am glad I did not log off as soon as I knew we wouldn’t be getting the usual performance!

Hello for the very first time!I hope all of you doing great!I just wanted to say some things.First,thanks because i found out ‘diamonds’ on you site.Moving on,im on this article April 6, 2020 haha ,so i got a lot more to discover,but i watched some older because of your links etc.Anyway,today only i watched Moon-young,9/10 on my IMDb account,Fragtime,which i really struggled to get throw it.I dont know why but yeah,7/10.It could be 8 but ….The Fallen,which i was like WTF i just watched,like you said i would haha,8/10.Hormones,which was the best thing i watched in a really long time and KoiDao made it to be on my top10 favourite ships list.How about dat?OFC and it was 10/10.And last,lily fever which i enjoyed i think more out of all.Im just sad that we wlll never be able to get an ending,9/10.That’s all folks!
