Well, partially, because (no I am not punning) I have no idea what the fuck it is supposed to be! I felt stupid at the end for all the times I was taking notes of scenes thinking that they would pay off in the future…Joke was on me!
I can totally see all reviewers slamming this movie for being about absolutely nothing! The characters are portrayed with flaws that seems as if they will be touched upon and learned from but nay, that is too high calibre for this movie!
I was like…WHAT…at the end! I think this is how I would have felt like had A GIRL AT MY DOOR had a different ending – you know, where Yeong-nam just up and left Do-hee just like that, to rot away in that ridiculous town!
Like, WTH!?! Endings like that should be banned!
And the movie had been doing pretty good as far as I was concerned up to that point! I am surprised how well it hid Karen and Lana’s personalities! Seriously, up until the last quarter, I couldn’t tell who was the bad one of the two! Things could have gone either way! But the movie was so tame that it seemed like the embodiment of scaredy cat!
Like, I don’t know what happened in the production of that movie! Some scenes make it come off as unapologetic but then other scenes make it seem like a B-rate pansy ass movie! They would be like, we can’t do that, it’s too extreme but then scenes earlier they would like, fuck the rules, we are doing this!
Like, I don’t even…Thank the Lord I got what I came for, well, some of it, and by that of course I mean the GAY! Otherwise, this would have been one of those…what a waste of time and investment, kind of movies! And girl, did I invest! I started watching this movie at 3:00am and finished it at 5:46am! That’s 2 hours and 46 minutes to watch a 90min movie!

If I were to sum up this movie in a simple sentence, it would be – A young woman deals with her breakup affair with an older woman! That’s it, that’s the whole movie! The way cards they dealt Lana (Sydney), made her into a side character that shouldn’t be mentioned in the plot of the movie! She is just included in the ‘dealing’ section of Karen’s story!
Now that I am thinking about it, it is actually starting to piss me off! I let it slide when I finished the movie because, like, this isn’t new and I have been feeling happy lately but it’s starting to get to me, you know…
Anyway, Karen is very devasted by her breakup with her lover, who even worries about Karen taking her own life because it was that bad! And the movie deceives us a little when it tries to show us this hidden side to Karen, but like I said, pussies reared their head in the end and they totally forgot all about that!
For someone that was so in love, she sure fell real fast for Lana’s character! Now, to their credit they did take their time with them before they made out but that didn’t make things any better because; Karen was lusting after Lana the very first day they meet! In addition, when they do make out, it is in the morning, like, who has their first time in the goddamn morning?!!! Especially since they slept together, in the same bed, after getting totally stoned!! Like, what the flying…

As if it was the theme of the movie, and by that I mean fuckin up very good development with a shitty resolution, after everything, after the two totally seduce each other to kingdom-come, something that they actually do way better than like, 60% of movies, when we get to the fruition of that seduction, it all fuckin goes down the drain when for some reason, Lana breaks down during the making out!
And now you must think, maybe she was really young as she lied about her age and in fact she was just innocent and thus when it came to the real deal, she finally couldn’t face the music! But you would be naïve! That was all just a fuckin act! You got that right, Lana was crying fuckin fake tears, lying about how she was blindly pulled into porno filming thinking she was being interviewed for Hollywood!
Yeah, I just nearly broke my keyboard!
I can’t believe I survive that scene while watching the movie. My happiness meter must have been over 11!

To cut the story short, Karen didn’t turn out to be as broken as we were being led to believe. Meanwhile on the other side, Lana was either so broken or the writers fucked up, probably both because they didn’t fuckin care to explain to us her side of the story. They didn’t even let her explain her side of the story! No, they just ended the movie there with Karen suddenly getting in control of her Lana-tuned libido and essentially telling her to fuck right off and gets the fuck out of dodge without even speaking to Lana ever again or even trying to understand her!
Again, what the fuck!?!
Forget about this being a bad ending, this is the ultimate shitty ending! Forget about us viewers, what about Lana, sorry, I meant Julian, that’s Lana’s actual name! Did Karen want to know more about that when Lana finally told her? Nope! Did she maybe see herself in Lana and try to help her so that she would not follow the wrong path? Fuck that! Did she even at least let her know that there were no hard feelings? Like maybe, say that she was impressed since she had previously said that she had never seen Lana act, but now that she has, maybe she could have brought that up and complimented her on the fact that she had been acting all this time they’ve known each other? Nooooope!
At the very least she could have told the truth and answered Lana’s question about whether anything between them had felt real for her! Sure she cried after the phone call from hell, so we viewers know that she truly felt for Lana but why did she not let Lana know?! I mean she was going to disappear from her life anyway, what would have been the big deal!
Alright, fuck this ending! I am keeping this movie because, yuri and Sydney was damn fine as always but…fuck this movie’s movie’s ending where the sun doesn’t shine!!
