From the company that brought you TONGEN / SNOGGING, comes another brilliant short film VLAM / SPARK! Just as expertly shot and and perfectly constructed, you could make a series out of these gems and make a name for yourself!

I love these two short films!!!

Sometimes all it takes is a short vacation for things to get super out of control and have your life be flipped on it’s head and question yourself how you have been living a lie all this time!

One of our girls Emma, the one with the soft features, almost has a complete breakdown during this one vacation when she figures out herself thanks to the help of her best friend and the three stranger stooges!

This short is that much more interesting because they play with a few things, one being the flow of time! The story isn’t linear but you will need a degree in quantum physics to figure out what is the right sequence of events! I have had this movie for a while now, watched it a couple of times, with and without subs and I still can’t figure out the sequence of events!

Another since it plays with is the girls themselves as it balances and plays with the sides making you question who was in love with whom first! No matter how I try to think of it I just can’t come to a conclusive decision because at some points it seems like Julia is the one who likes Emma, and her being the one who starts the whole spiral, with that kiss where she was asking Emma to show her how she had kissed the guy, then showing a bit of jealousy when Emma kissed the guy, a kiss that happened because of her by the way, having also kissed a guy first making the whole thing look petty seeing as she was making out with the guy without regards to Emma’s feelings.

But then afterwards it’s Emma who is having the breakdown when she realises that she might love kissing Julia much more than she did the guys, putting aside the fact that the only reason she kissed him (and gave him head) was because she was getting back at Julia! We never get an after thought of Julia’s and what she got out of this whole mess other than the coming to terms with it and not alienating Emma.

From the looks of things they end the vacation the same way they started it, still all smiles, even though there now seems to be something hanging over them! We don’t know if they are going to call it water under the bridge or what but what is for sure is that their friendship is completely changed!

Too bad this is a short film. I am very interested in seeing the ramifications of this vacation in full! Sure we saw Emma’s side of things, she is totally in love with Julia but what of Julia?! She is the instigator of the whole thing! She started the kiss, which at the time from my point of view, Emma did not have such feelings for Julia, or at least she hadn’t thought much of them! But once that kiss happened, there was no going back for her!

As for Julia, she is a tough one! Sadly,she was given somewhat of a side-character treatment as well as this story seems to be about Emma but I have a feeling that there is another side of the story for Julia! I hope they are making another short about that, it being a sequel to this but focusing on Julia would be frikkin rad!
