Yes, Hizzie!

In the case that anyone forgot, I am indeed watching Legacies and yes I am indeed shipping Hizzie! If you were around when season one was going, you will remember me as that one idiot that shipped Hizzie even when they were still at each other’s throat and everyone else hated Lizzie for her bitchiness!

Even now she is still thought of as the lesser twin despite the evidence showing the contrary! But I was not fooled by Josie’s good girl persona! No, I was onto her from the very beginning just like I was smitten by Lizzie from the very beginning! But I am not here to talk about how every other Hope ship just doesn’t work, yes, even the canon straight one (worst hero ever! In fact, I would take Shinji any day over him. God, that seems like disrespecting Shinji) and so, I am just going to stick to praising Hizzie!

But, I am not so heartless as to not give a shout out to the other new interesting ship in Josie and Jade! I never understood the hots people had for Penelope but I do understand her interest in Josie. They were so similar and while Josie was still in the closet, so to speak at the time, now that she is herself, the similarities are all there! Yeah, they fit but that doesn’t mean I have to ship them! In fact, I was more interested in Hosie than I ever was in Posie! Says a lot that does!

While there is a WTF moment when you think of things logically, I would take Jade with Josie over Penelope with Josie any day of the damn year! That dream Josie had of Jade in the beginning of the latest episode was all kinds of hot and for Legacies to open an episode with ‘a sex dream’, I have to give them props!

Also most interesting is that things just don’t end with the wet dream! Turns out Jade too has a crush on Josie so really, all is left is for them to speak in reality about this thing between them and we are all set!

But that, while relevant to this site in general, it is not relevant to this post! Legacies posts here are all Hizzie related so let’s get on with it, shall we? We shall, and what we will start with is the small recap of the first season!

The beginning and the end of season one in regard to Lizzie and Hope’s relationship could have been any more different! Having started out as enemies, basically Hope being Lizzie’s smite target every time they are in proximity, even times when they were not, because Lizzie has hated Hope so much it was to be truthful, very un-nerving! But as we found out, she had good reason but unfortunately, the reasons were all lies!

Lies fabricated by Josie! (Reason X why she is inferior)

Why the lies? Because she would rather Lizzie, the girl that tried so hard to befriend Hope when they were young, she would rather Lizzie hate Hope than lose Hope to Lizzie! You see whenever Josie had a crush on anyone, Lizzie would go for them too and somehow, she would always win! I guess that all changed when Penelope came into the picture because Lizzie hated her almost as much as she hated Hope at the time!

Josie burned down Hope’s room to hide the love letter or something to Hope because she did not want Hope to read it but then she lied so Lizzie though Hope had burned her own room to kill their holiday plans and then as if it was not enough, Josie lied again that Hope had started rumour about her being mental!

Having gotten a chance to sit down and talk, the two come to realise that all their animosity was fabricated by a lie and finally make up! A change that escalated things between them pretty quickly almost as if time was trying to catch up to all those years they would have been friends (maybe more if Josie’s crush had come out at the time) and they two bonded so hard it seemed like season had passed since they were enemies!

We got Lizzie finally showing her real side which is very caring and while she came off as crass, it was just because she was a truthful person! Lizzie doesn’t mince words! She says what she feels which was why she seemed leaps above more confident that Josie of the past.

It is quite funny! They are both now their true selves and now Lizzie is the better person of the two while Josie’s inner dark side is fully out and she is the meaner of the two! It is profound how everyone is ignoring the signs and still think that just because she is very powerful that Josie will be the victor in the merge! People need to think of the better qualities of a person and realise that Josie is falling and losing herself! In fact as the time comes closer, it seems that Lizzie is the one who is more prepared for any outcome while Josie is spiralling!

We also need to think of twins’ close people! Lizzie seems closer to all of them than Josie is! There is no denying that while many see them as a triforce, that Hope and Lizzie are closer than Hope and Josie! Three times Lizzie and Hope have been supportive of each other Lizzie and Hope were clashing with Josie! The first time was when Hope hit Penelope to save her from being controlled Josie almost fire-balled her. It was Lizzie who came to Hope’s rescue, and they were not even ‘friends’ yet then!

The next was during the dance where Josie was mad at Lizzie and telling her that she made a mistake in yet another one of her selfish acts where she had given Hope the dress that was a gift from Hope’s father to their mother! But she was so wrong and Hope was actually very happy that she even cried! That was when we got the infamous hug in the middle of the dance floor with everyone watching!

The two became close because they found out the truth that the whole thing had started because of Josie! I still think she got off pretty easy given what she had done! Sure she was young but come on! Instead all we got was Hope’s “You had a crush on me?” like girl, your room was set on damn fire!!!

Anyway, then in the latest episode, this time Hope actually had to take out Josie to save Lizzie! She literally killed her and even looked over her without a shed of a tear afterwards! She did not know at the time that Josie would not die or that it wasn’t the real Josie!

Like, all the signs are there! Most inconspicuous of them all is the Lizzie always wins thing! If she always wins, why would she not win the merge? I doubt that the merge is only about strength! Josie has already tried to cheat by getting rid of Lizzie before the moment of the merge so she could take over her body easy when the time comes! Funnily, even if that had happened, while she would have a different personality, I am sure people would still see Lizzie because appearances are all to us humans!

Despite Hope turning her down every time she tried to befriend her when they were young and despite the lies that turned them against one another, Lizzie and Hope still ended up as friends and in fact I feel the strongest friendship on the show, given that the other friendships are forgotten about!

The two have had more screen time together than any other two people and I bet you it is true if we got out the calculator and counted! Heck, Hizzie got a damn near episode dedicated just to the both of them! An episode that came right after Lizzie was the first to remember Hope after the pit of hell erased her from everyone’s memories! Memories Lizzie got after being the first one to want to befriend Hope the first time she saw her after the memory wipe, almost mirroring their time in childhood when Lizzie tried her best to be friends with Hope! It’s as if even Fate is on their side!

Another point is that other than their father, Hope hasn’t been so vulnerable with anyone else but Lizzie! Yeah sure, she might not have been with Dick because he is the female in that relationship, but come on! They are a couple, the least she could have done is show her weak side more to him but I am still waiting for that to happen!

And really, has Hope hugged anyone as much as she has Lizzie?! Seriously, that hug this episode left me super confused wondering why it happened! No one can tell me that they expected it! And if it was expected, it should have come from Lizzie since she was the one almost killed in the dream world but got saved by Hope! But no, it was Hope who went to hug Lizzie, right after showering her with that stupidly happy smile! Like, come on!

But we are not done yet! Lizzie and Hope have had not one, not two, but three instances where they faced the world together alone! Starting with the latest episode, Dark Josie having killed everyone, it was just Lizzie and Hope left in that world! Next, during the Fake Christmas episode when everyone again was mind fucked into thinking it was Christmas and they were all Jolly happy, it was just Hope and Lizzie that weren’t affected! An episode again where we got Hope giving Lizzie a unnecessary hug when she found out that Lizzie was still herself! Finally when Lizzie remembered Hope after the memory wipe incident, they were transported into a different world just by themselves!

Seriously, like, what’s the deal with that?! It’s almost like they are being challenged by the world to see if they are fit to rule together or something!

And then we have to remember another episode dedicated to the two in the first season! Well, more like dedicated to Lizzie’s hate for Hope where a Jinn granted Lizzie’s wished of world in which Hope did not exist, only for Hope to still exist, almost as if not even magic could erase Hope from her life!

Like, all the signs are there! I just don’t see why the others don’t see it! And while some might say that Hope deserves someone equal to her, power-wise, like say, Dick’s stupid immortality and flight with firry wings, which still doesn’t take away his mediocrity and pansiness, and while Josie is all juiced up now Dark Willow style and has managed to take out Hope, all seem to not bother to think about Lizzie!

What exactly is Lizzie’s condition?! Why is she considered a Looney?! Why did the Jinn choose her out of all the others to grant her wishes! Why does it seem like she is operating outside the norm?! We have seen instances where she is unaffected or less affected by things that affect the other character! Why is that?! They are twins yet why is it that Josie seems so strong magic-wise yet Lizzie so weak? Why do guys gravitate towards her and not Josie despite her bad qualities on the outside?!

I have theories and I am very certain that we are in for an earth shattering reveal down the road that will just have me saying ‘I told you so’ just like I did when Hizzie came to pass just like I was expecting while everyone hated on Lizzie and how so mean she was towards Hope, and everyone!
