Oh snap!!
Episode 2 and we already have our first Yuriko-sama fatality! Actually, there were two fatalities this episode! Things are getting interesting that’s for sure.
I have to say, I now understand why Mizuki (I’m calling her Mizuki from now on) seems to be so prominent in the marketing material. Sure, I still don’t think she deserves that much attention but I can kind of see why the way things are going!
Yeah, there is no doubt that Mizuki totally stole the episode! Seriously, with every other person she interacted with there was so much tension you could cut it with a knife! I am not sure what this means for her character later on and I hope the slight ping in the back of my head is a meaningless warning!
I will say it again but our Yuriko is so lucky to have Mizuki on her side! That girl is super scary! There was this one scene in the Yuriko-sama club room where a girl named Misako tried to get her to leave the room because only people allowed around are those with the letter yuri in their names, and it was really funny but also intense the way Mizuki didn’t even barge an inch when Misaki tried to pull her away. She even used two hands but not even Mizuki’s arm moved! Like, she didn’t even seem to exert any effort!
Then she proceeded to karate-move Misaki with just that single arm! It was the first WTF moment of the episode! And when you think that maybe Misaki was just too weak, Mizuki does that same thing later on with the, her male homeroom teacher who tried to sneak up on her!
Mizuki is frikkin scary!
And that’s not all, you know Yuriko-sama? The one everyone is afraid of because she seemingly has supernatural abilities? Yeah, Mizuki was all up in her business too! Their’s was actually the first tension-filled scene and I was like, Mizuki girl, be careful! You don’t want to get a curse on you!
But as we shall soon glimpse into the third episode, there seems to be a reason why Mizuki isn’t afraid of Yuriko-sama because from the looks of things, it seems those two have a history, and it doesn’t seem all that hostile! Looks like there might be some major competition for our Yuriko! Not only does Yuriko-sama have powers but she is also kind of has a connection with Mizuki!
Yeah, there’s gonna be blood!
As I mentioned in the last episode, Yuriko-sama is selected by ways of elimination and from the looks of history, thanks to the Yuriko-sama club, it seems things aren’t as simple as surrendering! Some girls transfer schools suddenly, others get hospitalised from unnatural accidents, some get outed on social media, others fall from roofs, the point is that these elimination methods are permanent!
Interestingly the club members told Yuriko that she need not be scared but there were no fatalities but it is no longer 1938! This time around the first elimination was a fatality! And of course the cutest Yuriko was the first one to go! Yeah, even Yuriko-sama is pitiful god!
But it wasn’t just the elimination that gave us blood! Some other bully who did not get a warning from Mizuki tried to run over Yuriko, who was saved by Mizuki and soon after, she fell off her bike like someone put a stick in the front wheel! Interestingly it was just as Yuriko was staring with anger at her which kind of throws a shadow of a doubt in me making me thing that there just might be something supernatural going on here!
Maybe Yuriko actually has some kind of power? But why her alone? Well, it might explain the interest a lot of people have in her compared to the other Yurikos! Also the way Mizuki specially treats her just points at there being something about our Yuriko!
But even then, she is still a good hearted quiet girl that Mizuki has to protect all the time! That too by the way was touched upon by Yuriko-sama saying that our Yuriko’s traits are not befitting of Yuriko-sama so either Yuriko will change as the series goes on or she will stay the same and thus change the status quo!
As for the rest of the Yurikos, one is already losing it, especially now that one is dead! The other I see kind of banding together with Yuriko and Mizuki for the time being a la Rin and Shirou from Fate/Stay Night where they call a truce as masters until the other masters are defeated!
Then there is Yuriko-sama herself. She doesn’t look worried at all and why should she? She has been chosen twice in a row! She should feel super confident! And there is that thing with Mizuki in the preview of the next episode and they come off as chummy so hopefully it’s only Yuriko-sama trying to flirt with her and they don’t actually have history!
First of all that doesn’t make any sense anyway. Yuriko-sama is a 3rd year while Mizuki is a freshman! How would they know each other so well and be so close then?! But then again, there is something amiss about Mizuki so…
Ahhhh episode 3 get here already!!!
As for the yuri, of course Mizuki is a protect! Seriously, her last name is probably Yurikoprotect or something! Yes, Mizuki, Mizuki Yurikoprotect! The way she covered Yuriko when that bully tried to run her over was just so cool I couldn’t stop myself from cooing!
Then that time they went to the Yuriko-sama club and Mizuki did not want to leave and nearly broke Misaki’s hand when she tried to force her out, and away from Yuriko, but as soon as Yuriko placed her hand over Mizuki’s she let go and when Yuriko asked her to leave, there wasn’t even a second of hesitation!!!
And then the was Yuriko smiled at her at that!!!! God I can’t even tell who is more in love with whom! It seems like Mizuki would go to the moon and back for Yuriko meanwhile Yuriko might as well be walking on the moon the way she look at Mizuki!
God, they so gay!!!
Come on episode 3, let’s get this thing rolling and maybe build up on the ships in here!! Until then Ladies and Gentlemen…
