Arise Ancient Gay Lords!!!

That’s what basically happened in this second season of the Mexican/Netflix series Diablero!

You have no idea how much guts it took to watch the second season! First season let me down because, as you can imagine, I was shipping Keta with Nancy but that didn’t pan out well, what with Nancy being boy crazy and Keta having a son already and all that! You know, all the stop signs for gay street!

But something just kept nagging me and eventually I went to Netflix to scheme through the series and as you can imagine, I was two episodes in before I decided to go get the full quality episodes! I binged it in a night!

So anyway, what is this Diablero all about? It’s a kind of fantasy horror with a dash of comedy, what with the Infante siblings having super powers of some sort! The two siblings along with their friend Nancy are kind of a monster detective squad that go hunting down things that go bump into the night! But we don’t get to see what’s so special about Keta until season 2 when she awakens to her Ancient Gay Powers thanks to a certain sexy ass with Lupe!

We also don’t get to Lupe until season two so one could say this was more of a Keta season whereas the first was about her brother! Not only does she awaken to her powers but her son also takes the centre stage as the big bad when the evil cult kidnapped him from the first season so that they could use him to block the only gateway to heaven that Angels can come through to this world.

Apparently Keta fucked an Angel but unless my memory fails me, I don’t remember the father! Anyway, the mission for season two is basically to stop the end of the world because without Angels, Evil would take over the world and we don’t learn the son’s involvement until much later and so the mission turns to rescuing the son and also stopping the apocalypse!

You know, the typical deal!

But as you all know, I was more interested in other things than the end of the world! That other thing is of course Keta and Lupe’s relationship…well, maybe relationship!

Putting aside Lupe’s totally ridiculous hotness for a witch, actually, maybe that is the only explanation for her beauty, she is a witch! I mean, we saw that in The Witcher with Yennefer!

Anyway, once Lupe and Keta meet, it’s gay rainbows from there onwards! A minute within meeting and they are already having hand sex! There was a lot of hand sex! And once they were alone, Lupe just couldn’t keep her sexy libido in check anymore and she was already kissing Keta!

Interestingly, while it might seem like there is rushing, it didn’t come off as such! Even as the second kiss happened in the same episode, it was very believable!

After that there were scenes that showed that they were girlfriends material, like badass Lupe caving into Keta despite the situation that called for a doesn’t take no for an answer Lupe! You could say that Keta humbled that wild with somewhat, which if you think about it is a feat that can only be accomplished by a large dose of love!

Sadly, we didn’t get a satisfying conclusions to their future other than the fact that some Dude mentions Keta’s experimentation. Though I guess that can be taken like them having made out another time we did not get to see but the others did since both times they made out they were the only two around, in the scenes we saw!

Though I get it that the ending was a family burial, I was confused by Lupe and her girls’ absence! At the very least Lupe should have been there! This was Keta’s brother for crying out loud (He sacrificed himself to save them from hell)!

But to be fair the series was short and just like season 2 was to 1, maybe we have more surprises in the third season! Yes, I am that confident that it will be renewed!
