Lily Weapon FTW (AKA UGW ~ Ultimate Gay Weapon)

Just kidding. But seeing what kind of this short project is, I am probably not that far from the tree. I would have liked for someone to take the challenge and reply with an answer in the lines of Lily Fever. Why not a true sequel to Lily Fever? That would take the cake!

At 6 minutes in length, REALLY LILY is a fluff cute short that does do something we haven’t seen before. Like, it is hard thinking of a yuri project doing something new but here we are! I have never thought about a physical weapon against homophobes and really, that is because no one of us would have thought it to exist but this short movie found a way!

In addition to finding a weapon to use against homophobia, in 6 minute we got one of the best, like I mean top 5 best, kisses in this movie. That was one mighty kiss! It almost like, took up a quarter of the runtime! They should have titled this one LILY KISS or something along those lines!

So anyway, it’s basically two close friend who meet at a café for some teatime and sweets. They are having fun in that way you just know there is something there between the two even if it is not yet acknowledged between our girls.

The movie was so short we did not even get introductions enough for even their names. In fact, we know more about the supporting characters than our girls. With them at the coffee shop is three guys; Virgin #1, Virgin #2 and the waiter Virgin #3.

While our girls are having fun with themselves at the table, Virgin #1 and #2 start snickering at the and calling them names. Our Alpha girl is not amused, especially so that the two aren’t a couple and yet the Virgins were calling them lesbians. She gives them more than s piece of her mind as she asks what is wrong with lesbians anyway.

One tries to come at her again when our Beta or Seme girl comes out with the surprise of the decade to the rescue of her ‘Lover’.

Looks, these days, having seen as much as I have, it is very hard to see a movie do something new that we haven’t seen before, something to make your beat a new. And yet this short 6-minute movie managed to do just that! It created a weapon against homophobia, something I never thought I would see.

She hit the guy with a bouquet of lilies!

Poetic Justice right there if I ever knew one. I mean, like, what better weapon is there against homophobes than a bunch of lilies?! And in case anyone exists that doesn’t know, Lilies are the Lesbian Flower! It’s no coincidence that the flowers name is the equivalent of lesbianism is Japan. And really, the whole world recognizes its significance, be it ‘Murica, China, South Korea or wherever…

And so you can’t fault me for laughing like a crazy person at that scene of our girl beating the ignorance out of that homophobic dude. What’s funnier is that she was the quiet and innocent one of the two so for her to be the one to do that makes it that much funnier.

And to drive the point home and prove just how perfect the two are for one another, she comes over to her woman, links their arms and is like, Yeah, what’s wrong with lesbians? She is my Lover so what?!

Mind, at this moment in time they are still just friends. While the other woman obviously had feelings for her friend prior to this, which we find out later when the Waifu asks her to tie the bracelet tighter this time so it won’t come off, something that they had been arguing about prior because she had removed the bracelet from her arm and not for the first time, turns out that those bracelets were a symbol for Lovers.

Heh, Alpha girl probably thought she could get away with secretly claiming Waifu as her own by giving her that bracelet and Waifu being her innocent self, not knowing what it meant but alas, she knew, just like most girls do, like Usagi (Sailor Moon), who many viewers don’t think that they know their friends have romantic feelings for them!

Anyway, the two get embarrassed after Waifu called them Lovers and then when the Dudes left, the two turned to each other and finally gave into their suppressed feelings and kiss like Asian dramas could never ever manage to kiss!

Seriously, their kiss is so hot that our Lily Fever ladies felt a shiver running down their spine from the intense competition!

But

Right before that hotness, they seal the deal with Waifu asking her Lover to tie the bracelet for her again, but, this time make it tight enough so that it won’t come off again! This is of course after she makes it known that the bracelets (which she shares with the other) means that they are Lovers. So, her admitting that, then asking the other woman to tie the bracelet again means that she accepts their relationship as Lovers. Not that the kiss left anything in the dark!

And that’s it. Yeah, it’s super short, there is silliness that is bordering on self-aware b-grade movies, but it manages to do somethings that makes it demand to be taken a bit seriously. Despite the wink-wink side of the antagonists that puts a giant sign for ‘BAD GUY’ on their foreheads, the girls’ side is genuine enough and it is all so entertaining that one just can’t help but love it.

Also great news is that it already has subtitles for different languages from the official YouTube account already. So really, if you are lucky your country will have been covered with subtitles. What are you waiting for then?
