Seriously, I am still trying to digest episode 5 of Runaways and you go and hit me with a stronger punch with this episode!! How am I supposed to hang on until next week? Is there even an episode next week? Oh God, please say there is at least one more episode before these TV show breaks…

Like, can you all fuckin believe this episode?!!! We went from 1km/h to 30km/h by episode 5 and finally to frikkkin over 9000km/h!!! Like, I am sorry for suddenly dumping this on you all but that is what I went through too! Like, this is episode 6 for crying out loud!

During that scene on the bed where Karolina almost came out to Nico, confessed to Nico, I was so out there in my mind I did not what the hell I wanted! On the one hand we have such good build up to this thing and while I know it might end badly where Nico is concerned, in that she will not return Karolina’s feelings, at least according to canon, so far I have hope personally, I was conflicted because things were moving so fast! I was actually praying for someone to interrupt them or Karolina to stop herself and thankfully one of those things ended up happening…

Gert and Molly pussy-blocked them just as Nico was opening her mouth to probably ask who or what Karolina was talking about to which I am sure would have been a reply we would not have liked! Be it a kiss or a name drop, either way I was not ready and thankfully the convo was cut in its tracks! So well played girls! Two blockings happening in two episodes right after the other! And all so telling!

So, right about now it is clear! Karolina is so gay her powers might as well be the description of her! Nico on the other hand is still vague! it is as if she knows something but she doesn’t give anything away! You don’t know if she has any feelings towards Karolina and even that first scene in the mirror where she tried to make Karolina glow (make Karolina glow…I think I blew a blood vessel) might just be her simply being fascinated with Karolina’s powers!

But there is two other telling scenes later on in the episode…

She’s totally sulking!

One of these scenes is where Gert sneaks Karolina off to the side to question her about her feelings for Nico!

This was the very first time that I thought the writers were slacking and the first bad scene in the whole series so far! Like, there is no way whatsoever, there has been no evidence, no scene, that gave even an inclination that anyone, absolutely anyone else other than Karolina and maybe Nico, would know that Karolina had a crush on Nico!

No, fuckin way! And yet suddenly here Gert comes and drops this line like she has been present in all of the two’s scenes? Like she has been watching a desperate Karolina flirting with Nico!! I hate this scene for much that even what ends up happening, and by that I mean Gert getting roasted in the end by Karolina when she fake asks Chase (that is Liam to you all) to get her a drink and to rub it in Gert’s face for taking into her personal business, that sweet sting can’t erase the stupidity of Gert knowing that Karolina had a crush on Nico!

Anyway I am bringing up the scene for Nico’s reaction to Karolina’s asking Chase for a drink. She was so not happy about that! But like I said, it is hard to tell with Nico but seeing as there are being seeds of doubt planted in her relationship with Alex, I am too giddy to even think of the prospects!

Yes, some tell me there is no future in them because of the source material but you all remember PLL?! If the actual books, very popular at that, could be changed just to give us EMISON, then by the gods Runaways can also be changed to give us these two! Sure, EMISON was on a whole other level, had more than 9 years of fandom power (yours truly included) behind it so sure, circumstances were different but it did happen, that is the point!

At first I was like “Is she going to clock someone with that!”


But nope, our girl just loves her some alcohol

The caps speak for themselves and I was kind of hoping to see star-struck eyes of Nico from her mother’s office as she watches Karolina float outside her window tens of floors up but alas!

We instead had to settle with a bit of jealous Nico when Chase drops the fact that Karolina can fly. But that wasn’t even the only thing in this scene! Chase tells her that their parents were having an affair and for some reason…heh…she thinks it was their Moms having an affair!

Like, that little detail there is already telling! She either knows that Karolina is into girls and into her, or she doesn’t and maybe she is thinking of being into girls or Karolina! Either way, that is one big detail I am sure they are going to tackle next episode!

At the very least the series is showing consistency! I am sure that Nico and Karolina are going to be having another alone time to talk about the happenings of this episode, be it finishing that talk on the bed or the flying thing!

I don’t have wishes but I hope that either they go flying or we instead switch gears and see Nico’s take on all o this. So far it has been from Karolina’s side of the story! Come on Runaways, I know you can do it!
