Best Film. Best Director. Best Screenplay. Best Soundtrack. Best Cinematography. Best Editing. Best…
Best, best, best!!!
All won by The Handmaiden!
This movie does wonders for me! Making me see eye to eye with the critics for the very first (and probably last time) is one such wonder!
The Oscars sure were lucky this year. They were lucky The Handmaiden wasn’t in the running! That would have been one unfair fight!
I love this movie!

Wow. I’m not sure how do I go about this, but is there any way I could personally message you? Is this blog run by a team? Or is it a one-woman show? I need to ask and share so much. Would love to hear back from you!

I was reading your articles on ‘The HANDMAIDEN’ and I am thrilled to see someone writing about it more than just once! It is such an under-rated movie! Not a lot of people know of it. I guess masterpieces never really go mainstream. I have watched it 5 time (or more) already and I fall in love with it all over again no matter how many times I’ve already watched. I don’t think I would ever come across a movie as perfect as ‘The Handmaiden’.

The Handmaiden is THE movie I was waiting for. It is a loose adaptation of Fingersmith after all and to this day I still believe there will ever be another as engaging and skillfully written as it.
So to have that book adapted, and by one of, if not the best Korean director Park Chan-wook, well, my dream was realised.
I am so not done talking about this movie.
All others will forever be compared to The Handmaiden!
