Nogizaka Under Construction ep98

You all have no idea how much I so wanted what just happened in this week’s Under Construction! Ever since last year, when during the episode where some girls were asked to come up with club ideas and the members had to choose which club to join, though Ikoma-kun’s Mountain Climbing Club did not have the most members, it sure had most of my favourites!

Ikoma-kun (as the president), Minami-chan and Manatsu returning (from the Mount Fuji event way back during the 10th single promotion in 2014), Asuka-chan, Miria and Ranze , two of my 2nd gen biases! Like, how more perfect could this even have been?! Too bad Miona did not get to vote as she was also a pitcher of club ideas but I have a feeling if she were not she would so be on Team Ikoma!

I have been praying for Management to do something with that club ever since then because it was just too good to pass up! Seriously, as of the latest single, all members of this club have been centres before! Ranze and Miria, in fact got their centres after the club idea! Coincidence that they go to centre Undergirls soon after? Maybe, maybe not!

Okay, so Mana-tan was more like a unit (with Nanase) than a Centre but somehow I think now that is a better deal, right?

But anyway, I can’t believe this has finally happened! I have just so been hooked on Miria and Ranze lately from the 2nd gen and seeing them getting Centres (Ranze for the 16th single Undergirls and Miria for this 17th Undergirls) feels so good but finally getting them all together with my Nogizaka Kami Ikoma-kun and her waifu Minami-chan, in addition to my first loli complex Asuka, well, this is a cause for celebration!

But first I have to mention that love letter from Miria-chan to Ikoma-kun during the 7rh season of NOGIBINGO…

 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Okay, so it is more of a ‘Thank You’ Letter than a Love letter but just look at Miria’s face after she officially thanks Ikoma-kun!! And poor ikoma-kun, she was ready to burst from all the heat she received from the lovely words of the 2nd gens (and Ijiri)!

Oh yeah, that is Miona you see up there! She was not about to let her fellow 2nd gen steal all the thunder and show that she loves Ikoma-kun more than her, nah uh! And according to her, apparently the 2nd gens rely on Ikoma-kun the most and I really can’t blame them. She expiates confidence and positivity and all these new Centres probably feel like they would get better advice from her since she was basically in their position during the first Nogizaka singles! Minami-chan already said it that just being close to her fills her with confidence as she is reminded of the early days the two were the front members with Iku-chan.

As for what Miria-chan thanks Ikoma-kun for, from what I understood, she wanted some advice on how to improve her MC skills on shows, which as of this moment after that Under Construction episode, was just one of them many things she needed help with!

I was actually a bit surprised by Miria, and it was in finding out about this side of her that I fell for her! She doesn’t come off as a loner at all, does she at first glance? But believe it or not she is one! it is very easy to see when, as most would put it, she lets her guard down and she does this a lot! You will see this in the Construction episode where she was concentrated on eating while the other members talked! Then there is that question of a life-time she dropped and prompted a cut scene!!

Anyway, I really love it when members are shown appreciation from their fellas because in this world that should be eat or be eaten, to have a member that is that selfless is really commendable! And to see that Ikoma-kun is taking after my Kami of Kamis Yukirin, well, what else can I be but proud?

And seriously, after this week’s Construction episode, a Ikoma-kun x Miria-chan fic needs to happen! They are just too cute, especially since Miria-chan cut her hair and turned black again!

Wait, where’s ma sleepover?!

This week’s Nogizaka Under Construction, it is yet another promotion episode for the new single and this time it is for the 17th single! I do not even have complaints that despite not being centres and some not even being in senbatsu, they chose these girls to do the promoting! No complaints because this is like a gift as far as I am concerned! I get to see all of my girls (except Miona) go on a location shoot together, make connections and grow closer, all things I have been praying for!

But this is not just another Mountain Climbing. This time they will be climbing ice mountains and as such this first episode was of them training to tread those ice slopes but before we even get to the real, bods are already being built! Kind of sucks that Asuka-chan isn’t here to be a part of this from the beginning but then the real deal wouldn’t be that interesting otherwise, am I right?

What I mostly took from this though was how so comfortable Minami-chan is with Ikoma-kun! And Jesus, she is already 19 years old?! Like, get out of here! That girl was like 14 or something when we first met and now she is already 19!!! She sure doesn’t look it!

Anyway Minami-chan was just so at home with Ikoma-kun! Seriously, she would even ignore the camera and the other girls as if only Ikoma-kun was present! And the two easily connected their conversations but I guess it is expected having been together all this time! And there is that scene where she got scared and shouted out for ‘Ikoma-chan~’! Like, how cute is that?! Crying out for your man to come and save you!! Ahhhh

Another fact I took away was how much of a loner Miria was, even less that Ranze, if you can believe it! I mean, from the surface it seems like Ranze is the loner and that Miria has an abundance of friends but you would be so wrong!

I mean, she came out and asked flat-out asked (to Ikoma-kun) how one makes friends! This was during the conversation they were having about going out to eat alone, which surprised Manatsu-senpai since it is only her in the group that apparently always has someone to eat with.

Miria says then that in fact she can only eat alone, after which she look Ikoma-kun straight in the face with a serious expression and asks how one makes friends! The situation had turned so serious that they totally cut around it LOL! Which also prompted them to switch to games as to lighten up the mood and what better game than that one of monster playing cards that Kazumin introduced to us, where you pick a card, give the monster a name, and when that card is picked again, the one that says the name first wins.

It was a great choice it seems because Miria seemed like she was genuinely having fun! I can only try and imagine that during the sleepover, she was also right next to Ikoma-kun, albeit most probably to the chagrin of one Minami-chan >.<

And speaking of Minami0chan, she lets us know how Ikoma-kun always does the cooking in events like this, when Ikoma-kun starts frying a steak, to which Ranze adds that it is because she is a Big Sister (to who?) and tell us too how Ikoma-kun helped her crack an egg! Like, dear Ranze, you can’t even crack an egg? Who do you think you are, Yukirin?!

LOL

And not to leave out Mana-tan, I already said that I love her relationship she has with Ikoma-kun. Though Ikoma-kun teases her relentlessly, just like other 1st gen members, Ikoma-kun still respects her. And Mana-tan cares for her greatly too. I am not sure how many of you remember that episode where they went to Harajuku for shopping and Mana-tan was such an Onee-sama towards Ikoma-kun then that I just could never forget. She might seem like a despicable character but she is really caring, and we see it here where she and Ikoma-kun serve the young ones. Also not to forget but Ikoma-kun actually recognised the pink Rock hat she was wearing as the exact same one from the Mountain Fuji episode. See, she is watching Mana-tan as well!

Seriously, I wish Asuka-chan was here. I still have yet to get some Ikoma x Asuka moments in my life. it is with this with that I eagerly await next week’s episode when things get real!
