First things first! I simply adore the first season of Hibike Euphonium! In the minority here, or probably just me, but as far as I am concerned, that series was A+ yuri! Without any shenanigans of a source in the Light Novels and other canon like Manga crap, when you take that series on its own merits, it was a wonderful, wonderful yuri show!

No matter how you slice it that story was squarely centred around Kumiko and Reina and their developing relationship. Both of them despite being almost strangers in episode 01 ended up affecting and in fact needing one another in their lives, or making decisions that affected their lives greatly, by the end of the last episode! They were completely transformed and their development handled so perfectly!

But some tried to find flaws by bringing up LNs and Manga and I’m like, WTF are you talking about? I know of no such things! try not to destroy my happiness, will ya?! They seem so hang up on the Dick moments and his existence as if there is a sense making yuri story without a guy in it! Well, there is Strawberry Panic and Blue Drop and, okay, that’s the wrong approach!

The point is that some of the most loved fandoms have guys in them, in fact rivals of our lovely couples! Think Kannazuki no Miko, Maria-sama ga Miteru and even the latest and greatest Ahgassi / The Handmaiden! Am I the only one who is more satisfied when there is a guy and the girl ends up winning the girl anyway in the end? Because as far as I am concerned Reina was the definitive winner here when it comes to Kumiko!

And so as I so very content and decided on not watching anything else that comes out after about Hibike! Hell, I was so committed that I did not even see that extra episode that came with the Blurays!

That first season was simply perfection to me!

I believe I said it here on this blog too that I would not be watching a second season! I knew it was coming but I have seen from experience what happens to promises KyoAni makes (seriously KyoAni!). I was so set against not watching a second season but there is always that fan that just has to spam you with messages of golden pots and so here I am, watching the 2nd PV for the Second Season of Hibike Euphonium, and I am like…

Yes, yes, I know this is probably going to end badly and I will have no one to blame but myself but I don’t care! They went out of their way to crams a whole series’ worth of KumiRei in a mere seconds long video and I am like, surely no one is that evil!! Surely…

Then I remembered how everyone was so adamant about KumiRei not happening in the 1st season despite all the KumiRei we kept getting episode by episode, always waiting for the other shoe to drop (pan very intended) but it never did! All it got was a fist bump meanwhile KumiRei was going full steam ahead towards the very end!

Despite all the naysayers bringing up the LN and Manga supposed evidence!

And so with that actual evidence, I am going to give KyoAni and Hibike S2 a chance! KyoAni is still on my suicide watch after the crap they pulled in the past (yes, including Lucky Star!) There has been great development and even though more in the Western and Central World, even japan knows of it so I am hoping that they finally, or someone came in with some balls on them and are willing to evolve their ideologies!

You better deliver KyoAni! After this KumiRei trailer, because that’s what the fuck it is, you had best live up to the hype or else my promise about killing you last is gonna turn into a lie!

I don’t know if it was intentional but I just love it how in all the KumiRei we have gotten in this short preview, it is not one-sided! Both are giving as much as they are taking. Of course Reina it seems is still in the driving seat but it seems Kumiko is starting to be the initiator as well.

And fuck, is that another festival episode I spy?!! Will it top the last season’s episode 8?! highly unlikely but seeing as this time they are actually going to the festival, in yukata and everything, and the mutual leaning…with other people around!!!

Damn, I am so done!

SOLD! I am sold! Haven’t an anime series in what feels like forever, not since ma mayonnaise couple (Hai-Furi) so I think it’s about time, eh? And really, after Ahgassi, nothing can bring me down this year. Nothing! 2016 is already going down in history! So bring it KyoAni! I am so ready!
