My frikkin Soul! That is what I am willing to give up for this movie! If anyone knows of any gypsies or dark magicians or fallen angels, please contact me immediately! I will make sure to save space down there when I get to hell later!
Holy Molly!
One of the loveliest people in the world today, my Readers, just shared another OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD trailer for The Handmaid and by the gods!!! I don’t even…
Did this awesome mofo just go and turn Fingersmith into a fantasy horror movie?! Did he just go and turn my favourite book into my favourite movie genre?!
Dear Readers, I don’t think I can handle this! How can I survive, knowing this movie is going to be out there in approximately 1 month and yet I have to wait until next year to see it!?! How?!
I thought reading the book would sate my hunger somewhat but the effects were the exact opposite! BBC’s actresses were wiped from my mind and were replaced by Min-Hee and Tae-Ri as I read the book. All I saw were their faces and that made my hunger of seeing these two that much greater!
And then just yesterday, wonderful, wonderful tiduf goes and shares this new trailer (Best trailer for 2016 hands down!), that fuckin blew my mind!
I mean, I know Fingersmith is crazy, especially during Maud’s chapter but it is subtle. Mr Park just went full on crazy with his adaptation! Jesus! I mean, this shouldn’t be a surprise. No country exaggerates emotions like Korea does. So of course taking a story like that of Fingersmith and putting into Korean hands, you just know you are in for the ride of your life!
I thought that I was ready, I don’t think I am anymore! This is, this is just too much!
And while I watched the new trailer on YoutTube, I decided to dig up some more things on Ahgassi and what did I find? Press conferences with the cast about the movie! You know something is sure to happen in those and while I did not have much hope seeing as Min-Hee is actually a very reserved actress and Tae-Ri being a new-be, I wasn’t expecting much.
But they showed a glimpse of unexpected chemistry within the few minutes of video that surprised me. I really wish I knew what they were saying. They seemed to be talking about how it was working with each other and I really want to know! Hopefully someone will take pity on us and translate.
Tae-Ri of course was very nervous and it was very clear this was new to her. She spent most of the time talking looking down and her hand restlessly rubbing her leg. She was just so cute. Min-Hee was also still the same old, calm and collected self. It was great seeing her react to Tae-Ri’s talks.
Anyway, enough rumblings…
A load of peeking going on in this movie!
Who are you people?!
What did I tell you about this scene you all, What did I fuckin say?!!
SPOILERSSSSSS
I don’t remember this scene being so…Lord have mercy!
Sad Sue is sad!
RFR and Sue’s scenes sure are volatile!! I like it!
Real Audition Vibes from this cap
…Not! Really, in the book Maud actually kind of fell for RFR and the only thing that saved her from the act is that she got her period So really, with Maud older in the movie, this makes sense.
Maud, how in the hell did you get up there?! Are you a frikkin vampire? I mean, everything screams supernatural about her, after the latest trailer especially.
How I wish this was the dance lessons in the book! I have a feeling these are not dance lessons. God, I can’t wait to see what exactly is Maud and Sue’s relationship in this movie! They seem like the most destructive couple here, 1000x than they were in the book, which is a winner in mine!
a frikkin cobra at ur frikkin doorstep?!
The shit?!
Doll humping?!!
What the fuck is going on?! I mean, in the book the specifics of what went on with Maud and all those gentleman guests of her Uncle’s were kept at a SFA (Safe for Adults) level by telling us she was reading them a certain flavour of books but I had a feeling something else was going on. Is this fuckin it?! I can’t…
SRSly, WTF?!
My mind and body (no more soul) aren’t ready to be wreaked by this movie!
Tae-Ri looks like Ikumin here, huh?
Some behind the scenes
In 2014 when the movie was announced!
I see your hand Min-Hee
From the press conference.
MY SOUL IS HERE READY FOR THE TAKING!
Also this needs translating…PRONTO!

For what the director said and for what I saw in this trailer, I have a strong feeling that “Ahgassi” will be TOO het and the lesbian relationship will not end well and/or won’t be satisfactory. I could be wrong, of course.

No movie can ever get close to the book. If BBC themselves couldn’t do it justice, no else can.
That said, I will take everything Fingersmith, that it what that book means to me. And personally from what I have seen in the trailers, I am good. I can always get back to the book to satisfy myself. That is if the movie disappointed me, which I doubt.
My yuri-sense is always there for me and it hasn’t gone off yet for this movie. That is all I need.

I wasn’t expecting this movie to be exactly like the book because I know movies and series can’t do justice to the books in general, but what matters to me is how much essence from the original work is lost in the adaptation, and a focus in a guy that the director felt didn’t have enough credit isn’t something I would consider positive when the story is about two woman falling in love with each other. Anyway, I admire that positivity of yours but I can’t. Sorry for the english (isn’t my first language).

As someone else said, this isn’t an adaptation, it is inspiration. Think of it as Fan Fiction – Au Fan Fiction
May 5, 2016 at 00:10
Yes, it’s an inspiration, my fault. But like I said, that commentary from the director makes me particularly not very confident about the yuri quality. Anyway, I look forward for your review when the movie comes out and maybe it will make me want to watch the movie. Thank you for being patient with me and my negativity.

Oh don’t worry. Nothing is gonna get in my way of seeing this movie, NOTHING!
I will definitely be covering this.
May 5, 2016 at 05:47
The trailer looks promising, I hope they could find a good way to link it with the book, or vice versa.
May 5, 2016 at 09:40
But they are already linked. Almost 80% of the scenes I recognise.
I think they are just going to expand on RFR ‘s side of things like some are saying. He was elusive most parts in the book and if this explains what he was up to those times, then it’s more like expanding on the main story.
I really don’t know why people are worried. I am convinced by the day that most haven’t read the book, or don’t remember it very well.
