Holy shit holy shit holy shit!!! That Min-hee and Tae-Ri as Maud and Sue! Fuck fuck fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m even happy to see that bastard Gentleman! What the hell is happening!?!!!!!

I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I took a day to get myself together before I decided to write up on this. I thought for sure that I was ready! As it is apparent, I was most definitely not!

My usual Readers should know I very rarely curse but fuck if this isn’t the one time to lose myself! Okay, this is getting out of control! I need to control myself. I was bred to master my senses, to adopt to any and all situations I…

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
so-done-done

I’m so sorry, I really am! B-but, I can’t help it! Every frikkin scene I saw was like words flashing across mind and eyes! It was like I was right there reading the book again. Every scene in this damn trailer clicked right away. I instantly knew where and what is going on in said scene! For crying out loud, it’s been so long since I read that book and yet it feels like I just read it right now! Rest assured I going to be reading it after this mad week (My Final Year Project is due next week).

Fingersmith is still to this day, amidst hundreds of books I have read, the very best of the best yuri stories ever told! No other book comes close and I know I have said that same thing a countless times but Goddamn if it isn’t true! Sarah Waters out-did herself with this one! The closest thing to this awesomeness is her other book ‘Tipping the Velvet’. But even that has no candle to Fingersmith! This book is a damn masterpiece!

You know you love a book like no other and you have read it to death when it is over 500 pages long and yet every scene frikkin jumps out at you like it was life changing memory. Then again, it probably was to me. Every book I read now I can’t help but be underwhelmed by them because I read Fingersmith. It is like the tip of the apex of what every book should aspire to be and none have come close which always ends up making me feel really let down.

But back to the trailer, Korea just dropped the first real trailer (after a 30 sec teaser a week or so back) and my goodness! I am a grown person and I had tears on my face watching the trailer! Even now as I think about it as I write this I am getting misty-eyed! Why? I don’t know, I just, I just don’t know! I mean this is not like the first time we have gotten a live action of Fingersmith! BBC released a two-parter which actually kind of nailed the casting to the A! Of course it was nowhere close to doing justice to a 500-page complex a story as Maud Lily and Sue/Susan Trinder!

Then again I guess I should be thankful to the BBC version because I think it made it more tolerable to handle a foreign take on the story that was primarily set in England with English characters. This movie version is using Japanese and Korean settings instead of London where Sue lived and the country side where Briar is situated and Maud lives.

Even as I discuss this everything in the book is coming back to me! I am seeing the old house now, creaking under Sue’s sneaking footsteps and imagining Maud and Richard-freakin-Rivers’ sche…Oh shit! I think I am about to spoil things. Really, if you haven’t read this book yet, like, why?!!! You wonderful and lucky bastards, why haven’t you ready Fingersmith yet?!

Watching this trailer, like I said, brought every scene playing out in my mind! Like that bathtub scene above with Sue filing Maud’s sharp teeth! The scene is now in my brain and won’t leave, just like the others. Sue whose walls were starting to crack, Maud who is hopelessly falling the maid that came to…Okay, this can’t be helped!

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!

If you don’t want to be spoiled, stop right now! You have been warned!

Fingersmith is a three-part story! Part 1 covers Sue’s side of the story. You think she is the one where everything started and you might be right. But then you get to Part2 after everything has gone to shit then you find out that it wasn’t with her that things actually began. It was with Maud actually! But wait, actually things go back way farther than that! Everything began even before these two were born! Part three is back to Sue where sides are both now very clear and the Reader is left to wallow with themselves because we know what is what but Maud and Sue don’t know, well, Sue less than Maud, and you want to shout everything at them, you do shout at the book but all in vein!

This story dear Readers!

And so you get to see things from both perspectives of Maud and Sue and you find your heart being stretched and torn apart from either angle because you see both of their sides and you can’t, just can’t! And so with the tooth scene, which I remember did not happen in a bath but hey, things shouldn’t be to the letter otherwise where would be the enjoyment factor for those that read the book? I mean I would enjoy it even if they made a 20hr movie following the book scene by scene but hey, the world currently has gone to shit in the real world so I know that wouldn’t do.

Every scene became as clear as day in my mind as I watched the trailer. Like…
