Dear NOGIBINGO, why are you so damn awesome?!

Seriously, I want to know! They have only had just over 50 episodes so far and yet it feels like they have had more segments than AKBINGO has had in its 350+ episode run! Just this week they introduced a whole new segment! Meanwhile in AKBINGO, they are doing the fashion segment for like, the nth time now! What are they, some kind of advertising company? I miss the actual fashion show that began it all – you know the Coplay one that was, now that I think about it, hosted by Ijiri! Ah the irony!

Meanwhile NOGIBINGO knows what the fans want and they are still delivering in aces even as the segments are new and no longer copies of the old AKBINGO ones. That was like so season one, they are on the 5^th now and things are getting better still. I mean come on, a segment where the girls get to act out their mousou lives as Oneesama with the members of their choice as their Imouto?! What is more awesome than that? Seriously, it almost even beats Danso for me because if you think about it, even though under the Danso they are still girls, the concept is that they are guys during those Danso segments so it is actually not yuri. Meanwhile here we get to not only have actual girl and girl, but this is essentially wincest!

Very interesting that they chose this segment now especially when you think that on 4chan people call each other Oneesama instead of Anon. I wonder if someone in AKBINGO production is a member of /u/. I can’t think it a coincidence that they chose the Oneesama segment for this season.

The couples this first time ever were kind of a mixed bag for me at first but that was only because I was expecting different couples. But then I thought that the couples I was thinking about wouldn’t work as sisters and more as lovers so I watched the episode again and enjoyed it immensely for what it was. I actually came away with a ship or two as well.

The first sisters up are the Hashigawa Sisters. That is of course Hashimoto Manami and Fukagawa Mai. It was interesting that Hashimoto chose MaiMai as her Imouto since she is the one and only Oneesama of Nogizaka. But we also all know that MaiMai is a Hax of nature! That young woman can act cuter than even Minami or Asuka and at the same time be the coolest beauty you will ever see! So seeing her totally slay the role of a little sister was a given and not at all that surprising.

What was surprising was that I ended up shipping her with Hashimoto. I am an avid shipper of MaiMai and MisaMisa (Etou Misa) but this ship just hit me out of nowhere like a damn ghost train! All this was mostly MaiMai’s fault really!

The gist of it is that the Oneesama has this fantasy they wish to have fulfilled if they had a little sister. Some of them are crazier than the others and some Oneesama even use it to get their yuri fantasies realized. In Hashimoto’s case, it was one rainy evening and she stayed in to have some self study done (Or was that home work, I still cant into Japanese well). Little Sister MaiMai shows up in her room to get her Oneechan to play with her.

Another new and great thing about this segment was that unlike the other fantasy requests from the fans that were acted out without the audience knowing and the girls themselves knowing in advance, here, only the Oneesama knew what was to happen but the Imouto didn’t. They found out what they were supposed to be doing right there in the studio with the rest of the audience. I thought it was very clever the way they did this. It showed how the girls acted with initiative and how well they have matured in these three years.

So when Hashimoto Oneechan read out to us what her sister would do next, MaiMai was in the same boat as us viewers. It was very fun seeing their reactions especially when they were asked to do some crazy stuff like in the case of the others. Hashimoto is a good girl of course so she wouldn’t make strange requests. But really, no one sane person could ask MaiMai of strange requests. Okay, maybe MisaMisa but they are on a different level of connection so…

MaiMai tries all kinds of tricks to get her Oneechan to play with her. She tries distracting her with affections like making eyes at her (she knows her sister is weak when it comes to those eyes), she tries imitations games too but those don’t work. Oneesama game is too strong but Oneesama is weakening. Not even Hashimoto can resist the awesomeness that is MaiMai’s perfection. When MaiMai starts praising her Oneechan by stating 10 things that she likes about her, Oneesama finally falls in defeat. She dies but not without crying out her dying message…

MaiMai’s game was the biggest reason why I ended up shipping these two but Hashimoto’s reactions to MaiMai’s cute actions helped greatly. Despite being the one that was responsible for everything she was as equally embarrassed as MaiMai. Not that I blame her, MaiMai was just so on her game (bar that opening where she flying get’d but it was just another cute side of her I thought)

Up next we had the Sakuramoto Sisters. These are Nogizaka’s captain Sakurai Reika, a well known and established raging lesbian, and the moe character of the group – Nakamoto Himeka. You know, I have a feeling no one enjoys their power as captain like Reika does. She probably abuses it to make the members fulfil her yurilicious fantasies. It has also come to my attention that she is starting to embrace her real self. All members seem to know of this side of hers which makes you wonder how many victims she has had so far. If you worry about the way she gets made fun of by the members because of her lesbianism, well, don’t Reika is also a huge masochist!

This is actually hinted at in this very Oneesama fantasy of hers. The story goes that she comes late one night very tired. What she did not know was that her Imouto Himetan was still awake. When Himetan comes over to welcome her back, she asks her why she is still up and Himetan says that she was waiting for her Oneechan to return home (doki moment right here).

Himetan then proceeds to give her Oneechan a massage to take away some of her fatigue (doki moment) as she asks her to tell her of her day and why she was so tired. Reika says how she had just had a long handshake queue and also mentions how tiring her role as the Captain is. Himetan though is not impressed and says that it would make more sense for the other members getting tired of putting up with her than she actually taking care of others (doki moment, for masochist Reika anyway). Oneesama also says something about getting tired from speaking with any and all members every day to which Himetan again says that the others actually don’t look forward to seeing when all they think as Reika approaches them is ‘Oh God, here she comes again’. Imouto-chan rails some more on Oneesama further damaging her heart.

But Reika doesn’t hate pain so it’s okay. Also remember that everything Imouto-chan does is what Oneesama wishes their little sister to do to them so this was all Reika’s fantasy.

To seal the deal Himetan exists on a wild note but when she closes the door, she pauses there for a few quite seconds then encourages on her beloved Oneechan by telling her to hang in there (doki moment). This sounds much better in Japanese by the way so I didn’t even try to direct translate.

These two were another instant ship! I am of course already aboard the SS Yumika (Wakatsuki-sama and Reika) and already ship Himetan with Kawago. It’s just that it was almost too perfect. The balance between Reika’s masochism and Himetan blackness was oh so good! I can just picture it – Himetan being mean to her Oneesama all day only to turn into pure moe-blob and affectionate later at night. In fact I want to experience this as well. Where’s my spin off of the younger sisters?

The next round is a threesome between Shiraishi Oneesama, Ikuchan and Kawaii, Kawaii Minami. Speaking of Minami, I just thought of something. What if this segment did not come out of nowhere? I am not sure how many remember but in one of the fantasies in earlier seasons, there was one with sisters and those sisters were Minami and Asuka. I have a feeling that this segment was derived from that one. And what way to make it better than have the receiver be another member instead of the camera?

Better yet I mention that because in that fantasy Asuka and Minami were fighting over this delusional Oniichan and here Minami and Ikuchan are fighting over a delusional Oneechan.

Ikuchan is the studious type that are usually the quiet ones and it was nice to see that personality trait pull through here when we saw her sitting there with feels as she watched Minami have all the love from Shiraishi Oneesama. Meanwhile Minami is the cute little one that will take after their awesome Oneesama. She is into fashion and all things girly just like her sister, unlike the bookworm Ikuchan.

But that night Ikuchan struck first when she came to ask for her sister’s help with her home work. Poor Oneesama tried but the engrishu was too damn strong for her. I have a feeling Ikuchan was totally having fun with her asking help on those difficult words. Sadly we don’t get the chance to find out because the other Imouto-chan comes crushing the party.

Minami wants Oneesama to help her pick out some clothes. Oneesama tries to dismiss her by saying she is current not free and Ikuchan is not happy that Minami is interrupting her precious time with her beloved Oneesama. Oneesama asks Minami to wait a little bit until she finishes helping Ikuchan but Minami is not taking no for an answer.

The two Imouto starts to fight over Oneesama literally pulling onto her arms and everything like they were kindergarteners or something. Oneesama was in heaven being caught between her two lovely sisters. But in the end she chose to help Minami pick her clothes leaving a very sad Ikuchan to watch the two with jelly eyes.

Worse still, Minami-chan went for over-kill when she started getting drowsy and had to use Oneechan’s thighs as a pillow! I didn’t want to see the look on Ikuchan’s face right then, especially when Oneesama went full steam and even blew into Minami-chan’s ear making her cry out in the cutest of voices.

Shiraishi you lucky…

Remember that this was all Oneesama’s fantasy but then again, those Ikuchan jellies and Minami’s serious take looked too real. Still, damn that Shiraishi, getting to have Ikuchan and Minami-chan fighting over her! Finally we got the Akitori Shimai. That is Akimoto Manatsu and Saito Asuka. I understand the Aki in Akitori but what is the tori? I know what tori means but not in this context. Is there a connection between Asuka and birds that I am not aware of? Or did that beast Manatsu-senpai ogle the family name?!

Yes, that girl definitely is a beast! Something thing that her weird behavior is because she is dumb but I don’t think for a second Manatsu is stupid. In fact I think she is one of the more intelligent members in the group. I mean come on, even members call her Senpai! I too got won over during that date episode where she and Ikoma-kun went on a date in Shibuya together. I won’t ever forget the way she was so in control and felt how safe Ikoma-kun was in her care. So, since she is not dumb that makes her a beast when you think that all that stuff she does is intentional!

With that I can understand why Asuka-chan was worried about what would happen. She was playing the Imouto (obviously) and Manatsu was playing the Oneesama. Their story goes that Oneesama was down with the flu and her loving Imouto was looking after her. With this setting you could totally guess what was going to come, and that Manatsu did not disappoint.

But of course this being Manatsu, nothing would go according to plan and even before we get anywhere, she is already messing things up. Imouto-chan berates her saying that she gets colds because she is always wearing clothes that show off her shoulders. Manatsu says that she is not currently exposing then and tries to correct that but Imouto gives her the

rejection, putting a stop to the trouble before it lifted off.

Next it was moe point when Imouto uses the forehead to forehead temperature measure to feel for Oneesama’s level of fever and sadly it’s still not gone yet. Oneesama then tries to make Imouto spoon-feed her. She says it twice! But the joke was on her because suddenly Imouto-chan also had power in the fantasy over-riding Oneesama’s and thus turning Oneesama’s dream into a nightmare. First she tells Oneesama to feed herself then she tells her that there was no need to use a spoon and that she should sip straight from the bowl. Poor Oneesama sowed more than she hoped to but unlike Reika Oneesama, there was no final moe point to negative the pain.

These two almost failed to impress me. I say that but they have the most number of caps (logic, how does it even work). If they had turned out to be like Reika and Himetan and that Asuka actually was kind of enjoying the way her Oneesama was treating her, then I would so have been all over this. The reversal Imouto-chan pulled did not sit well with me. If it had been with Shiraishi I would have taken it since that seems to be their new thing where Manatsu does silly things to Shiraishi who gives Manatsu a piece of her mind for it.

I am trying to decide which of these are my favourite and I have hit a wall on two; Hashigawa sisters and the Sakuramoto sisters. Would it be the ‘sugar and spice’ Sakuramoto sisters or the ‘everything nice’ Hashigawa sisters? Decisions, decisions! On one hand Reika is a real lesbian meanwhile MaiMai is a girl to die for. There was still some time left and Nogibingo being the awesome show that it is, utilized those last few minute very well. They gave us an encore of four selected girls who were to give us viewers moe lines and if they pass they get to have a hug from the two Oniichans Manami and Noujou (You again!).

The first girl up was Higuchi Hina who said to Oniichan that until he gets himself a girlfriend, she (as the Imouto) will be Oniichan’s! That right there was a total killer and she was the first one up. Of course she passed because, hello! As her reward she got a hug from Noujou-Oniichan.

Next up was Watanabe Miria. She is growing on me this girl lately. I swear it has nothing to do with her exotic name, nothing at all, neither her cuteness! Anyway I am kind of lost at what her line means. Is it right to think that she was hinting to her Oniichan that a new love is awaiting him and for him to do his best? Anyway I don’t understand it but she was cute so…pass! Go get a hug from Hashi-nii!

Next was Wada Maaya who is not happy that some girl called her Oniichan old fashioned. She promises to go and fuck that woman up for her dear Oniichan. Instant Love! Go get your hug Maaya! And please try to make Kazumin jealous while you are at it. Ah crap, looks like Kazumin is in neutral mode when with bestie. Oh well!

Finally we get another 2^nd Gen that is looking attractive lately Suzuki Ayane (that name tho). For some reason she scares me more than Kitano Hinako does. Seriously what’s up with these 2^nd Gens and their sexy names!!?! Anyway I love girls like those that have this hidden strength in them. I guess I am expecting some thrashing when I behave badly (Hey, I guess I don’t hate pain either). As for what Ayane-chan says, she says that she doesn’t know things about love and feelings but all she knows is that her brother is the best Prince! She says in it in that timidly cute way that only Ayane can and of course I was done for! You two, give this girl a hug!!

Seriously NOGIBINGO is slaying! And since they rarely repeat segments unless really necessary, I have a feeling that there is something new coming our way soon and I can’t wait! AKBINGO is just so boring these days except once in a blue moon when they repeat the best segments like Danso that every other show, even none AKB idol shows are more appealing than it. They really need to get their things together.

Oh well, back to hunting for new Idol groups still getting their feet off the ground. Which is of course why I am all for NGT and seeing as the 1^st gen has been decided, things are perhaps about to get interesting again in the 48 Family. It is kind of strange though. I wasn’t that into HKT when they first arrived and NMB caught my eye because they were so unique from other Idols but most of the appeal of the early NMB is gone (Ainyan, Nana, Maachun, Shiokichi, Shimarena, Hitomi, Kanna, etc.) so now it is just another Sister. So many great girls, gone.
