Ha! Didn’t see that coming now did you! Did you?!! You couldn’t have, after all neither could I! Seriously I wasn’t expecting this movie to come out on DVD until like, Autumn but there I was, getting an alert in my Yahoo App telling me that this movie is already available to purchase! I was like pinching myself trying to prove that I wasn’t dreaming or something while at the same time I was offering up my Card to be sacrificed!

Well, since you are reading this, that means that this is true! This movie exists, after being shown in cinemas like, this Jan, or was that Feb, either way it was this year which means that the possibility of getting DVDs this early shouldn’t be at all possible but here we are! Then again, this might be because it was easy putting this on DVD seeing as it is a completely uncut version of those awesome PVs!

I had a feeling that would be the case but I did not believe it! Well believe you me dear Readers, that is the case! This movie is like the complete PV uncut! It has all the rawness of those PVs and even some more! Just imagine the craziness of PVs turned into a movie and you will know what this movie’s vibe is like! Can’t get it, well let me break it to you, it is crazy!

This movie, its very existence showed me that miracles do happen! I mean we see MV based on movies all the time but they always come after the movies, not this one! This time the movie came after the PVs due to high demand and many wishes, of which one was mine and let me tell you now I am so very happy to have gotten my wish granted! Why not? After all, how many of you get to say your wishes were granted?!! How could I not be happy!!!

As I mentioned during my post on Jan 1st (yes, I have no life! blogging on New Years Day, HA! HA!) and also as I just mentioned now, the characters from the PV reprise their roles because like I said, the movie happened because of the PVs so making the movie without the PV characters would be a complete waste of time! And so the same characters returned, with some new ones that we did not get to see in the PV but are necessary to the story and are welcome! That being said, the ones we are most interested in are of course these two…

Though this movie will lose you if you try to even think any deeper about it, this is the movie with the BEST END, actually the only one with a GOOD END of all the movies I am going to be blogging about in the coming days! And so I am very thankful for it just for that fact alone! You should know how hard a GOOD END movie when it comes to yuri is to find! You would think that in the current world where people are more tolerable of differences that movies would try to support this good turn but nooo! Instead they wish to keep of this doom of fear cloud that instead of making people come out and feel more confident in themselves they are instead forced to hide deeper within themselves for the dread these movies promises them is to come!

Yes I know this is true, I have seen it, experienced it too but aren’t movies supposed to be our light? Aren’t they supposed to make us happy even if it is a delusion? Movies are supposed to be our fairy tales but for some reason even in movies different people are subjected to the cruelty of reality! Why won’t you make more GOOD END yuri movies Za Warudo!!!??

Oh God this movie! First of all I will repeat, this is the PVs in all of their entirety! Take that as you will, I know some will take it as a negative but to me, this is a positive. You see, I totally have a twisted love for Japanese cinema, the kind that weaves these WTF movies that leave you confused and yet at the same time totally satisfied and thankful to have stumbled upon them. Now don’t go thinking that this is really a complicated movie. It might be confusing if you decide to think on it but otherwise it is pretty straight forward.

Then again it might be because I am used to Japanese movies. This movie has not all but parts of those movies that I love. Like the silent treatment, or the weird cuts or the equally weird BG sounds that no matter how hard you think about it, you can’t figure out how they came up with that sound! Characters are so deep that you would be lucky to figure them out and yet that is the exciting part! While most would be crying murder at the lack of character development I would like, are you kidding!!! These are the most quantifiable characters I have ever witnessed, even if they are not! That’s how weird I am!

Getting back to the movie, as you can see from the caps, my point I hope has been driven home. Really, when you watch it you will to see that what I said was true. The movie is the two PVs in the feature length and I am forever glad that they did not stray from that story of the PVs! All the movie did was fill in the blanks that we did not catch from the PVs mostly due to their short runtime of 4min each! This movie is 1h22min, plenty of time to fill in said blanks and nothing that didn’t belong was added in which really makes me love this movie even more!

From time to time I choose to share a bit about myself, let me share something else. One of the few things I don’t like about fanfiction is when a fic has an already established couple, especially those long ones with tens of chapters! If by chapter one the couple is already together, how am I supposed to keep up the interest for the rest of the 60 or so something chapters? It’s impossible! Which is why every time I decide to read a long chapter, the first few sentences will tell me if I should proceed or not! Basically, I dislike established couples by the start of the fic! Though I have done it sometimes but to me, it’s with the belief that we are on the same chapter, the readers and I, I mean!

Why am I bringing this up now? Well, this movie went and tickled me good! That’s right, Shiori and Ami meet for the first time in this movie! It’s during one of Shiori’s shoots and Ami happened to attend. Shiori catches sight of her taking a picture but dismisses her until she finds out that Ami is still around much later when the shooting is done. It is then that she approaches Ami and I find out once again to my pleasure, that Ami’s age was also kept intact! It is mentioned explicitly later on during one of the chat sessions Ami holds but during this scene, all Shori had to say was that Ami was in Junior High and that was enough for me! Oh yeah, she was 13 by the shooting of this, which was also the age mentioned in the movie!

If you read that New Year’s post, it mentioned the plot for this movie, which is that Ami was a super fan of Shiori’s, who is a model. She bought the same dresses Shiori wore, got the same phone and the same protector too. She even ran away from home just to come and meet Shiori. Worst part is that she even settled for living with Shiori’s boyfriend just to have a chance to be with Shiori!

Ah fear not, Shiori’s boyfriend is nothing to be worried about. In fact I actually loved the guy. So much so that I almost speared him the name ‘Dick’ but sadly I already forgot his name so Dick it is. Still, I like him and my conscious is telling me it is wrong so maybe I will call him Boy from now on. Anyway Boy is just like he was in the PVs. But we learn more about him in the movie that makes me like him more than I did in the PVs. He’s kind of a dick but not in a bad way. He is an accidental dick that one can kind of sympathize with! I mean even Ami chose to live with him and she is not that stupid! And my yuri-sense wasn’t tingling when he appeared on screen so there is that too.

Anyway, Boy isn’t related to Ami as I had originally thought from the PVs. She was just living with him while he was away from home. But he was so irresponsible that Ami had to do everything herself which to Shiori looked like he was abusing her or something. Even though it was probably a long thing coming, Shiori used this as the catalyst to finally break up with him, though maybe it was because he did the unthinkable!

You see, Shiori finally got a TV gig which was cause for celebration. Ami-chan got cake and a present as congratulations to both Shiori’s success and also to wish them a good life together (Even though she was in love with Shiori. Ami-chan was that good a kid!) The gift was a Hello Kitty plushy! Well guess what Boy went and do to said gift? He stepped on it! He stepped of Hello Kitty! Like, who does that!!! If it had been any other guy I tell you now he wouldn’t even be mentioned in this post! But like I said, Boy wasn’t that bad. He was just the clueless person ever! That didn’t mean that he would be getting away with it though. This is Kitty-chan we are talking about here people! Kitty-chan is SRS business! That move, even if unintentional, cost him a girl, made him take a cake to the face, and the rest of his life! Seriously, he was locked out on the veranda until he turned into a freaking zombie! A good zombie, but a zombie none the less!

Yes, I just mentioned zombies! It might not have been that but for the better of humanity, let’s just go with zombies, okay? Because if he wasn’t, then he was still alive, meaning that he was left out there for days to the point of his body starting to die and rot while he was still alive and licking! Not a pretty thought, huh?

Anyway the way Shiori and Ami-chan’s feelings progress was a welcome change and yet it was kind of normal too. Ami-chan used to comment on Shiori’s blog and when they meet, Shiori figures out that she was Ami. Think of it this way. Imagine Yukirin visiting my blog and finding out my identity! Umm, okay, let’s not go there! The point is that Ami write about meeting Shiori and the feelings she has and had during those meetings not knowing that Shiori knows, well, before she tells her that she knows but that was the right time to tell her.

Shiori follows the bread crumbs to Ami’s own blog which is like, dedicated to her and what a chance! When she gets there, Ami has a chat going! Shiori decides to join it and viola! She is the only audience! Talk about luck! Making up a name, Shiori starts a conversation with Ami and it is then that we find out that Ami is 13 and also it is probably the time that Shiori truly knows how much Ami loves her. Ami talks about this with Shiori thinking that she was another girl her age. Then again maybe it was another girl her age, maybe it was her friend and classmate we meet later on but I still think it was Shiori in disguise!

After that the two visit each other’s blogs and watch each other’s streams and it isn’t until the Kitty-chan business that things rump up! Actually that scene was one of the ones shown in the PVs, the one where Shiori loses herself and locks her no-longer boyfriend outside his own house. They do the phone thing where they film one another and though we didn’t know what was going on, mostly due to the music being dominant, we do find out in the movie.

What was happening was that Shiori was confessing that she knows of Ami’s blog. She also confesses that she feels the same way that Ami feels for her. That she like her and is impressed by Ami, being able to do her best for what she wants at such an early age. She says she loves Ami. But poor Ami wasn’t ready for such a turn of events! She runs off, a la the PVs but once again, we didn’t know what was happening then but we know now. She was running away from the emotions of it all.

Shiori chases her like she did before to the park and Ami feeling cornered, finally breaks and lets her real feelings show themselves for the first time in front of Shiori! You see Ami was actually very quiet when in the presence of Shiori, just like I know I would be if I ever met Yukirin face to face. In fact she mentions this in one of her blog entries. She was even settle with seeing Shiori and her boyfriend together even if it hurt her so much! She barely spoke when in front of Shiori. So when she felt cornered, especially after being told that she was loved, by the person she loved most in the world, well, her feelings came pouring out at once and the scene from the PV happened next where she pushed Shiori to the ground and laid her feeling bare in her eyes as she looked down at Shiori under her.

This was like their requiting of their feelings for each other. What I loved about this scene most though was the BGM used during it. Others will be covering their ears wondering WTF was happening but to me that was the perfect representations of what was happening inside Ami at that moment! That music had the chaos that one would expect in a girl as young as Ami and having these complicated feelings within her coming pouring out!

After that it was Happy in Everland as we see the two go on a date and do all kinds of things anyone would do in their situation. All that delicious hand holding, mmm! And actually they already had great moments even before they confessed. They went to Oomori’s LIVEs, the artists that Shiori loves so much thus Ami scoring hundreds of points with her. Then that scene soon after said LIVE on that bench! So cute!

But of course the Universe just won’t let things be and though I hate to admit it, this movie had a realism to it that made me grumble and grumble and yet I couldn’t help appreciate its existence! Ami’s Mom shows up and finally the two are separated. I mean it is logical. Ami had been away from home long enough to warranty questions of moral so this was good but that doesn’t mean I have to like it!

During her absence, the absence in which the two can’t even keep in touch anymore thanks to Mom taking the phone away from Ami-chan, not to mention that Ami’s Mom was really sick (So sick that she even fainted in the middle of preparing dinner and falling head first into a pan on the cooker, I swear that scene was really scary! Ami was also filled with guilt and thus couldn’t help but listen to her mother), during this time Shiori’s life turned upside down. She quit the modelling business and also quit her school. Worse she was leaving town, not that that was the issue seeing as they lived in different towns but even if Ami was to want to see Shiori again, she wouldn’t have been able to not knowing where Shiori had gone off to.

But that wasn’t the worst thing. They did not part on the best of terms with things left in the air. Ami did not know that Shiori was quitting. Did not know of all those messages Shiori had left her. But she still loved her and Shiori still loved Ami. In fact during this time we are shown just how much Shiori loves Ami when we see how precious she had kept that bag if sweets that Ami had given her the first time that had met on that set! I had actually even forgotten about it until this moment when Shiori opened it and cried as she ate those sweets! But that wasn’t the best part. This scene was taking place in the park where the two lay after they had come to terms with their feelings for each other. She even had Kiity-chan right there with her as she lay in the cold, in the grass with nothing on but her school uniform! I tell you guys, the feelings were deep within my heart during this scene!

At that exact time meanwhile back at Ami’s home, she is asleep and in her dreams (Were they really dreams? And if not, well, WTF even!!!) Human-sized Kitty-chans come and pay her a visit. They bring the reality of Shiori’s life to her, show her the missed messages and I wanted to go into my screen and hug them. But they fist bumped each other which I will settle for. But this info dump was just too sudden and too much for Ami. She was at a loss of what to do, forget her mother’s situation, what was she to do even if she were to get out of there?!

Thankfully she doesn’t want to find out before deciding to break that piggy bank of hers and making her way back to Shiori if it were the last thing she was going to do! But she did not know where Shiori lived. All she knew was Boy’s place so that’s where she went. Turns out that Boy was still where she had left him that fateful night, on the veranda, so dead-looking he was a freakin zombie! But he was a good zombie. The best zombie in the world because of what he did after!

Zombie boy helped Ami track down Shiori and they were lucky to find her in time as she was waiting for the bus stop. Zombie Boy actually scored more points when he saved Ami from an oncoming truck because she thought that Ami had boarded the bus and was leaving and so tried to run after the bus, ignoring traffic just like any other person in love would do if their love was leaving to never be seen ever again. Thankfully, unlike Mika from Shishunki Gokko, there was Zombie Boy here to save the day!

He points us to the stop again and we find out that Shiori was actually still sitting there. She had caught sight of the two and hadn’t boarded the bus. Ah Zombie boy, you are so the best Zombie ever! But then when Ami went to go and meet Shiori, Shiori funnily pulled an Ami from before where she ran away from the feels. Ami-chan too pulled a Shiori from back then and ran after her, showing us once again how serious these two’s feelings for one another were! She managed to catch Shiori and the two did the eye thing again where these feelings each held for one another bounced off each other’s souls back and forth until it was clear what was more important, the world or their love.

Obviously their love was more important and the two ran off together, to create a world of their own where no one else will ever come between them! Like, if that isn’t an ENDING we have been waiting for in a while (years actually), I don’t know what is! Sure it’s not gonna be easy for them, not even remotely, what with Shiori being 17 (in the movie’s timeline) and Ami being only 13 but Shiori seems familiar with the world and as I stated, Ami is not stupid! She is one bright kid, so while they might have difficulties getting started, I am sure they will survive!

Sigh, I am having ‘The only Two girls On Earth’ vibes right now and I am loving it! Actually all my negative feelings about those movies that shan’t be named until their time, have been erased thanks to this movie. It will be weird to some, especially those new these types of Japanese movies but overall, I think you will like it. You won’t help but support Shiori and Ami in the end.
