Well they are not capes in the definition of the word but you get the drift! And Yukirin of course had to get the see-through because ‘Yukirin legs’! Unless absolutely necessary, Yukirin’s legs are to be bare, said a rule that wasn’t written but is known to every costume designer ever! Seriously, I was totally in love with the first costumes but these new ones, Jesus! Too bad this was not a cool song as opposed to it being a sad song about partings (graduation) which means I can’t see SRS Yukirin. We all know she takes everything seriously and she will put on the emotions required for the job so while I would have loved to see her Badass side I have to settle for the somewhat sad Yukirin, even though she smiles in her sadness. Oh well, there is NMB’s single and she totally kicking butt (literally) and taking names over there so I am covered in the SRSly badass Yukirin department!
How?! How could Yuria have survived those rainbows of happiness streamed her way!?!! I don’t get it! Someone explain this mystery to me!
That sure was a fun segment though, huh? I loved the way Yuria was so comfortable with Yukirin and Yukirin’s reactions/acting were spot on! There is no way anyone who sees this can’t see the pure happiness she is feeling at finally being chosen to Center a song! Well, it is a double Centre but still, Centre is Centre. Can you just imagine how happy she will be when she does get a solo Centre? Especially if it at SSK!?! I want to know! Please dear Yukirinians, let’s make it happen! Pretty please!
And those hands!!! The instant Yuria took a hold of Yukirin hand my heart actually stopped! They when she raised the other and proceeded to pull Yukirin’s hands away I was a shipper so hard not even an 11th commandment could stop me from shipping! And those who know Yuria know how she loves Yukirin! That is no secret so to see whoever was in charge throwing a bone towards Yuria was just the treat! Seriously, every member close to Yukirin it seems to me that they get their chance to do something with her officially, which really makes me the happiest fan ever! I could never be anymore proud of being a Yukirin fan! No way!
Did I mention how I totally am in love with Green Flash’s senbatsu? Oh, I did? Well, then excuse while I say it again – I am in love with Green Flash’s senbatsu! Still not on the levels of Flying Get’s senbatsu but it is very close! Very close indeed! Every angle I am pointed to my eyes are glued on the screen! A constant smile is on my face! No frowns anywhere, all the girls are A-okay with me in this single! All are in the right places, no over-stepping which is really rare these days!
I doubt I will ever get tired of seeing those oh so wonderful CBS shots nor will I Yukirin passing in-between Sakura and Mayuyu like that! Nope, not in this life-time! And sometime, like in the first cap, Sakura-tan and Mayuyu are facing each other’s way which really places even more suspense on the scene! Yeah, I get all kinds of vibes just from something so simple, got a problem with that?!!
I’m watching you watch Yukirin Rena! Also care to share how Yukirin smells? I can see you getting drunk from her scent, literally! I guess you watched that AKB Shirabe episode, eh? Please don’t go Gekikara on Riorin! She is a precious Kashiwagi Child!
Those skirt capes man…And are we really sure this wasn’t supposed to be a cool song because all these girls look as cool as all hell! Seriously, every one I see I just nod in agreement! This single would have been perfect if it weren’t for that damned PV! Just imagine a great PV, that backs up these awesome LIVE performances! This single would have been golden! But no, those Dudes couldn’t get things right just this once! Who here is willing to bet that PV scandal (yes, I am calling it that!) kind of put a huge stain on this single? All hands? Okay thought as such.

Any way, what I am trying to say is that I love this single so damn much! This should have a given of course, the instant we found out who the Centers were! But then that PV had to happen! Things didn’t go well after that, as all who frequent Stage48 might have found out. But thank the Lord for the LIVE performances did not suffer the same cancer! Almost forgetting that PV even exists, almost. But before I leave…
Seriously! BAD! ASS! No wonder these two were the only ones in the Majisuka Gakuen series to get Super powers! It’s just in their DNA!

Is it a coincidence, that I got notified of your post at the same time Berlin’s Take My Breath Away was playing in the background? I agree those two are incredible! I was reading the Sponichi interview, and I came to the state of actualization that Nyan nyan and Yukirin are closer than they publicly admit. Yukirin went as far as to declare — albeit jokingly — she’ll graduation when Nyan nyan does. In some perverted dimension out there, something only the deepest corner of an obsessed writer could be happening. I have to concur this senbatsu is the best AKB48 has produced in the last couple of years. Though it is still a long way to reach the Flying Get level, at least in my scale.
Though I am certainly in the band-wagon with Nyanwage, I’m still the greatest AtsuYuki fan ever! I do think Yukirin and Nyan nyan are a powerful duo, and when together a storm arises. But with Nyan nyan you never now, she might just do something completely outside expectations, just because. Flying Get and Heavy Rotation are the most iconic singles (at least for us that began during the Acchan Era). I think Green Flash can be placed among those, but not quite there yet. Yukirin does seem to enjoy herself more, maybe it isn’t because she is centring, but because it’s with Nyan nyan? That Sponichi interview shed light on how well they complement each other even in jest.
If this is hint of what a Yukirin centre might look like, we can expect a quality single, very much in that 2011 style. Though I don’t expect Flying Get to be the top senbatsu single any-time soon. So far it is the only single to have won it all. It is a curious fact, since Acchan’s last single with AKB48 (Manatsu no Sounds good!), the number of nominations and awards for the group have dwindle. And none of the singles led by her successor — i.e. Mayuyu — have been as successful. Yukirin could probably spike like that if she wins the sounsenkyo.
In summary, since I bet you’re tired of my scripture, your post title says it all!

A solo Yukirin Center has to happen, flanked by girls like Takamina, Sayanee and the like, who can actually perform and we shall have another winner on our hands. I have to concure that AKB has been lacking lately and I am not that hurt by it not winning any awards these years. They need to up their game (If Yasusu gets rid of his pride)!
We really truck out on that AtsuYuki duet, huh? At least there is still hope. Acchan is still singing and Yukirin can maybe invite her in one of her future solo cons?

I suppose that at least the awesomeness of the performances have at least gone some way to cover over the disappointment of the MV, it doesn’t cover all the sins that were created in that MV but at least it has gone someway to repairing some of the damage…..
They even got skirt capes!!! I mean that is the ultimate reward right there, it’s always been a well know thing that the centers get an extra bit of frill (a cape if you will) on their outfits to mark them out and Nyanwage have pretty much gone and got themselves the longest ever!!! Of course it makes sense for them as they both have the bodies and the style to carry it off both being utterly tantalizing and delicious floating around in their lovely skirt capes 🙂
And yeah this Senbatsu is awesome, firstly because you can remember everyone in it (yes I am a firm believer in smaller senbatsus) But also because there is a certain feeling of rightness to it, it feels as though people are where they should be position wise, that no-one seems out of place, it just feels right and I think that the girls themselves feel this too and that it effects their performance for the better.
As for Yuria, well, she was loving her own personal bit of Yukirin time there 😀 Seriously was surprised at how comfortable her and Yuki were together, they were both totally relaxed during this segment and certainly had some fun with the sketch, I know that they have had some time together on various projects and what not but was really happy to see them like this, it fully warmed my heart

Yeah, that MV really put a dumper on things, didn’t it! I would like to think that Yasusu learned something from this but I doubt it. All he sees is green!
Also I can’t wait for that radio drama! Why oh why wasn’t it an actual TV drama?! It could have been a special, a la those HKT ones if they couldn’t make it a full 12 eps. I long for another Mendol-like drama or Mousou Deka kind to arrive.
