Well that was…If things keep on progressing at this rate, these two will have babies by the last episode, if this is a 13 ep series!
The first one is Ryo’s guardian, Akira, who is keeping an eye on her while her parents are off working abroad. She meets the girls while they are on a picnic watching Sakura Blossoms during a festival. I suspected something about her just from hearing her voice the first time in the first episode so I wasn’t that surprised when she was all over Ryo as soon as she arrived.
Akira and Ryo are going to be one of the shipped couples, I can feel it. Sure they might be related but when did that matter? There is also the fact that so far, before Kirin’s arrival, she has been the one with Ryo the most so fics based on their time together I can already picture happening. Especially those picnics that they had been having before today just the two of them.
But as for me, I only see it as teasing. I was waiting to see what Kirin thinks of Akira’s treating of Ryo to decide if I should take her potential seriously but seeing as Kirin wasn’t that affected, I too am not. Then again it might be because she was afraid of Akira.
During this scene though there was something about Ryo that was almost shed to light. It was just a glimpse and I am sure it will be revealed later on but there was this moment where Akira was kind of scared of her making think there is a deeper side to Ryo we haven’t seen yet. I only hope when it does get revealed, it won’t be at the expense of Kirin.
Still in this scene, how about that Ryo and Kirin moment before Akira arrived though? The way they they act towards each other still confuses me but they are the same age. Knowing this and seeing Kirin being all cute and embarrassed as Ryo pets her head just gives me warm and fuzzy feelings! It was such a cute moment that I was prepared to sit through the rest o the episode without nothing else happening.
Literally a minute or less later, the best moment happened! Akira did not bring packed food for the picnic (everyone was supposed to bring something) so she gave Ryo and Kirin money to go buy the food from the festive stands. On the way, Ryo tells a bit more of her past and how she hasn’t been coming lately because it isn’t as fun without her family.
Enter the next confession!
Like, are we going to be having moments like this in every single episode? I don’t think that I can handle all of that sugar! And that line, that last line where Kirin tried to explain her reason by saying that they were family, did you all catch the end where she tried to say something different? Too bad they got cock-blocked because she say anymore but as far as I am concerned, what she meant to say was said. Ryo isn’t that dump (thank God for that) so I am sure she understood! As to who dared interrupt this perfect moment that had the setting of a love confession (the surroundings and everything)…
Episode two, just episode two and we are already the jealousy is kicking in?!! I am telling you dear Readers, ‘m telling you…So, the one that interrupted our beautiful confession was Ryo’s classmate that we briefly met in episode one – Shiino. I have a feeling she and Kirin are going to be on bad sides every time they meet. Yeah sure they made up but I doubt that sneaky Shiino is going to stop teasing Kirin about Ryo. She is just that kind of character. Reminds me of a certain glasses girl from Pani Pani Dash.
Speaking of Pani Poni, I am ashamed to say that I did not know that this was a SHAFT series until this time in the episode! Seriously even the studio was like, ‘It seems no one knows this is our project. Time to do the signature move!’ And they did it not once, but twice in the same minute! From that moment on I know SHAFT is doing this. I wonder how I missed it though. I mean you would think that those backgrounds gave it away, or the character movements. No one does backgrounds as SHAFT does backgrounds! NO ONE! Not even ufotable! But to be fare, everything was only up’d this episode. The movements were more noticeable as SHAFT this episode than they were in the first and I don’t think there was a head-twist last episode, was there?
Any way it was really great seeing Kirin losing her mind because she though Shiino knew more about Ryo than her and tried to fight back by telling her of how Kirin took care of her when she was sick. And at the end there with Ryo’s hand on the small of Kirin’s back and Kirin stating her displeasure by saying that the candy was both sweet and sour. It was all so cute yo >.<
All these feels are just too much! We are only at episode 2, right? This is episode two and we are already crying, confessing, fighting, I just…I…And is it me or is Ryo growing quite bold with Kirin? I mean she did say that she feels that they are getting closer (soon closer than anyone else as her her words) but this pace is ridiculous!
At the very least they are honest with each other and that makes it quicker to make up instead of spending a whole episode in brood-ville! I mean come on, they are already at couple level. How even are they going progress from here? What’s next, doing things lovers do? I don’t know dear Readers but rest assured, I will be finding out!
Is it safe to say this is my favourite of the season? Me think so…
See ya around
