So, I bumped into these trailers during one of my daily YouTube raiding and I found them quite interesting.
Not quite on the levels of OMG-I-Have-To-Watch-This or something because as you know, I quite trust my gaydar and from what I saw in the trailers, there’s gonna be PAIN! And by that I mean that go into these movies with less enthusiasm in regards to yuri or you will be terribly disappointed.
As for me, you know me, I always go into with eyes both open and my heart on my sleeves which always ends in me getting hurt every single time. Yeah, I totally lied, I never trust my instincts! But one of these days, I will listen to them! They actually never lied to me but I just choose not to believe in them and that’s totally my own fault but it does not mean that I can spare others the pain. And so I warn you all.
First of all, both movies seem to be about friendship. In the case of Fantastic Girls, it is where I would say that everyone should at least check that out. It looks very promising. Now not to say that it will be perfect, we even see it in the trailer but there is a guy involved, in there is proposed to be a love-triangle between the three, Takemi (the cool beauty), Dick and Akira (the shy-shy transfer girl). But if my instincts are as right as always then things are not that cut and dry and I think that Akira was in fact in love with Takemi, who was in love with Dick, who in turn was more in love with Akira.
The trailer tells us that the movie takes place in two time-lines, one when Takemi and Akira first met in High School and then later on in their adulthood when they meet again after 15 or so years I think. Seems there was a lot of things left un-said and God gives Akira another chance later on and if I am reading things correctly, she is going to say those things, those secrets that she has been holding onto for all those years. Interesting, huh?
Then there is YumeHaruka. You would think that a movie named after two characters in it would be about them both but from what I have seen so far on the net, things aren’t looking good!
But first things first, the main character (Haruka) is of course X21’s very own leader Yoshimoto Yumi. She plays Haruka, a Grade A student excelling in both academics and sports. The story goes that just as she is at the peak of her game, she collapses and is diagnosed with brain cancer. Yeah, this is like Dear Friends all over again. But while in that one the supporting girl had more screen-time, here Yume not so much. Not a single website lists her in the main cast which really baffles my mind! I mean, almost the whole trailer seems to tell us that Yume is a major character in this story, for crying out loud she is in the frikkin title and yet…
I sure hope this is all a misunderstanding! I mean, I don’t mind if she dies in the movie (which seems like it will happen) but to go so far as to make her that inadequate outside of the trailer is really rubbing me the wrong way. I really hope this is not the real case and that she will actually me a major character and not just some girl Haruka meets for like, two days while in the hospital and then dies and is forgotten about!
Any way, skip over the line for the trailers and more caps…
