Namaste, Hello, Bye Bye นมัสเต จ๊ะเอ๋ บ๊ายบาย

*Sniifs*
So, I…I don’t think I would have posted about this movie had I not seen ‘A Girl at my Door’ before it. Actually this one came out last year before the mentioned movie but if I had seen it earlier, I would have dismissed it. I mean I would have loved it either way but I wouldn’t have seen the need to post about it. But now that I have watched ‘A Girl at my Door’, I am things differently now and with a couple of similarities between the two, I just cannot not talk about it.
Seems like everyone is experimenting with this Older/Young ships! Japan has done it, Korean a couple of times already and now Thailand is joining the fray it seems, with this movie Namaste that actually is from last year. I wonder why I hadn’t checked it out before now…
Any way these two movies are a bit alike and starting off with the main role herself, yes, that is our lovely Pie from ‘Yes or No’ movies right there. After that movie series, she has to be well known in Thailand by now. She plays Ploy in this movie as designer who hits a snag in life and has to go abroad to find herself (through Buddha). Her Sister, a Buddhist nun, urges her to go to India with her and there is where most of the movie takes place.
While on the plane, she gets to meet two people, Ja – a young girl that was one of many among Ploy’s Sister’s care who are going to become Nuns as well, and Gain – a film student who is travelling with her brothers on a film project in India.
Paralleling with ‘AGamD’ Ja would be Ron-chan (though much younger than Ron) and Gain would be Doona’s girlfriend (maybe). Now of course there wasn’t anything more between Gain and Ploy, in fact they were more like acquaintances. I am only interested because Gain seemed really taken by Ploy. From the moment she saw her on the Plane she was smut! I wish they had explored them a bit more. I mean they even hinted a bit at Ploy having a girlfriend (if she were in a relationship) and guess who I thought would have been her partner if she was in one?

This is a homage, right! Right!!?! And while this handsome girl says she wants to go somewhere abroad guess where Ploy suggests? Now I totally want to see a sequel where she is in India with this girlfriend of hers (if they are).
Mostly though, this movie was all about Ploy ( and Ja) and a fair bit of the three film-makers. It was kind of strange too and most I think will find it boring but if you sit through this movie (which I urge you to do) that ending will make you love this so much to want to go back and re-watch it with maximum attention. I am saving this movie not for the yuri but the FEELS! it doesn’t prepare you at all. I mean, there are hints but you won’t bat an eye at them until…
DAT TWIST!
Oh God, I need more tissues! While I try to stop these tears please jump ahead if you wanna see more caps from the movie…
