So yeah, I just watched this movie and OMG! Whoever is responsible for this, thank you so very much for further educating me! Until this movie I have never into Selfcest but as of now, after seeing +1, I am seeing things in a new light!

You know, I was very worried before, thinking that it was gonna suck, especially when it came to the CGI! Yes, CGI – is what I thought, even throughout watching the movie I thought that Allison (our beloved lesbian) was making out with her CGI-self…That’s what I thought until I finished the movie, came to share my view on it, searched a bit about it and found out the TRUTH!

The two Allisons were played by Suzanne Mary Dengel AND Colleen Donna Dengel! That’s right people, forget selfcest! This was WINCEST! That’s right, TWINCEST!

If you watched The Devil Wears Prada, like every other person, you will know I ain’t lying as they played Miranda’s twin daughters! Believe me, I already loved the movie without this great info but now that I know, I am so re-watching it, getting it on Bluray, and re-watching it again!

Jesus!

So, the story is kind of like a supernatural/party hard kind of film! A meteor hits an electric post near a house of a guy who just happens to be throwing a part right then. Three friends, including Allison are present of course. Things proceed as they usually would, with booze, music, booze, sex, and more booze, for a while that is, until the first black-out hits!

Hell starts raising then, slowly but surely. One of the guy friends just finished having sex, the girl is having a shower when the second black out hits. When the lights come back on, the girl is still in the shower BUT, she is there right next to him in the bed as well!

Da~mn!

There is two of them. They watch as the one in the shower comes out and they face each other. Not knowing what to do, the boy leaves the ladies alone to go find their friends, but when he does, the already know what’s going on! Everyone at the party has been duplicated but they don’t know it yet.  The one who found out next outside, killed their copy on sight!

Knowing that, they are afraid what would happen if their other selves find them. Two of the friends have other agendas with this new turn of events though. The other guy, uses this as a chance to get back his girlfriend seeing as time seems to reset during every black-out so he can practice his speeches until perfection. Needless to say, things don’t exactly go well with him, after he hit his copy with a broken bottle and renders them unconscious then ties them up and hides them. In the end he gets the girl but with blood on his hands…In other words, not interested!

It’s Allison we want and Allison was simply great! While others were completely losing their minds upon meeting their other selves, she sought out herself and talked her into a peaceful relationship instead of killing each other. Her other self was only eager to accept seeing as they, well, Allison seems to have had major problems before (probably was really over-weight) but even as she looks better now, she is still an outcast and other students make fun of her.

Never having fallen in love before, probably due to that little fact I mentioned, she falls for herself! Well, the duplicate falls for the real (first Allison) as she says it herself “I’ve never felt this way before” to which the real Allison says “I never thought I would hear myself say that.”

Dat Smile!

And so, while the others are getting more afraid with every black-out, as it seems that the more black-outs that happen the closer the time in between the duplicates gets and thus their death (which they believe is to happen to them after witnessing a few happenings) Allison on the other hand is always looking forward to meeting her other self. Unlike the others, they get closer with every happening and soon, they are no different from young lovers looking forward to their first kiss!

Which happens finally and I loved it! I was really worried about this movie and as such, the kiss too. I thought it would be some kind of ‘in there for kicks, this is a teen flick’ kiss but no! It was really sweet and I felt myself rooting for them without even knowing it!

All this while, during this deadliest black out, the others were busy murdering each other! No, seriously, they were killing each other in that small barn they were hiding in before the black-out but when it happened, the time difference had closed and the duplicated appeared right next to the original! Queue survival of the fittest! After the fiasco, no one knew if the original or the duplicate was left standing. There is no doubt though that they will never be the same ever again as they have to live with the trauma of killing someone with their own bare hands!

Only with Allison did things end differently. As they were going in for that second kiss (damn it, it always happens), the final black-out hits as their lips touch! But duplicate Allison doesn’t simply disappear. She instead merges with the original Allison!

Here is a thing. In the beginning of the movie, Allison asked one of her male friends if he believed that people get what they deserve in the end. Then just before they kissed, Duplicate Allison asked if the two of them will be alone forever (as in being outcasts).

Well, the two get their answer after the final black-out. Allison and Duplicate Allison loved each other so when they merged, ALLISON grew to lover herself. Even if the world around her doesn’t love her, she will be fine on her own because she now loves herself more than enough.

Thank you meteorite!

Any way, I don’t know if there was some kind of special message with that or that meteor had some kind of mission, but all in all, it was one good movie! I mean, even though Allison ended up alone (just like most of other lesbian characters) at least she didn’t die! And that smile that graced her face in the end as opposed to her being said all the time was really fulfilling!

So, do I recommend this? Why, yes! If you are not into Wincest (Hey, everybody is different) maybe you can go about this like I had done in the beginning? Think of it as selfcest! Believe me, it wasn’t as bad when  I thought it was just that, selfcest. The movie is really good too. The idea was fresh and it kept me on my toes!

Do watch it^^

  1. i had a hard time figuring out the title of the movie. since i don’t wanna read spoilers, i didn’t read the whole thing. so it’s +1. haha. gotta watch this xD

  2. I love this post! I’ve always found selfcest/clonecest between two females HOT! And when I saw the movie +1 it was a like a dream come true! Seeing Allison kissing herself was SO erotic. I wish there had been more screen time between the blonde girl and her double when she came out of the shower. I loved the script and it was a pretty good movie on so many levels. Let’s hope they make more movies like this 🙂 By the way it’s great finding someone who loves selfcest as much I do. Would love to chat and share links on this topic…you have my email 🙂
